That the first thing related to Harlem Shake that I've actually enjoyed. Pretty cool of Youtube to do that.

WHY?!
I don't hate it, it's harmless, but... why?
What is the point? What is gained by imitating this thing?
It's like someone told a joke, then everyone started telling the same joke, even to people who they knew had already heard the joke, for no other reason than it was the joke that people were telling.
I guess more and more people want to feel like they're part of something, and this is as effortless as it gets. Start recording, do nothing for 15 seconds, act like an idiot for another 15 seconds and you're done, you're an internet star.
I'm not trying to dictate what people should or shouldn't do, however, I am against this mentality where you have to put everything you do on the internet. Pictures of meals, that pair of shoes you're buying right this second, Harlem Shake, et cetera. I mean, go to a concert in this era of portable HD cameras and wi-fi. People are there, but they're watching the show through their little screens and sending it to Facebook or whatever. It makes no sense.
