I... uh... I'd assume it's a way of her dealing with her shyness in making conversation and a sensitive way keeping your interactions private and intimate even in public.

I've certainly never heard of it being some kind of secret code, your theory about it being a countdown to sex is particularly... well, I'd be a bit scared if I were your shy and sensitive girlfriend.

But, hey, maybe you're right and I just don't know about this notebook deal!

It's basically got the same pros and cons of any paper communication. Everything's on record for posterity so you can see how much you've grown as a couple and whatnot, but everything's on record if either of you says or does something stupid. Not sure I'd do this notebook thing, but I don't like physical copies of personal events because if it's actually important, I'll remember it.

Is there some secret agenda behind this? Her friend also uses the "notebook" method and I don't know why. If we get to the end of the book, do we have sex? Does she give me a blowjob? Do we break up? Does she show it to her friends, and keep it cataloged? Is this just a cute way of communication, and I'm demonizing it with my perverted, teenage boy mind?

Help me out, Escapists.
Pretty much, what the freaking hell?
Note-passing is pretty standard when you are in school. I used to pass notes to my friends all the time, doesn't mean anything.
This girl is probably just shy, which means I doubt she will show it to her friends, and if you break up she will probably just chuck it away.
Basically, get the other stuff out of your head because it makes you sound creepy.

No, there's not. It's a way of talking between classes that doesn't involve taking out your phone and looks like you're doing work. There is no secret code, it's just note passing.

Don't mention the countdown thing, ever. It give a pretty bad impression.
