A serious sniping game?

I like to call myself a gamer, I have about 7-10 games and a majority are of the shooting genre, but recently, I've been searching and can't find a decent shooting game thats focused on sniping, the last game was Sniper Elite for the PS2, I admit all of the Cod games have their moments, but thats not really what i'm after

So, my question is, does anyone know of a serious, sniper-based game?

Well I don't know about a serious sniping game but the sniping in BF:BC2 is pretty good. There's a bit of bullet drop over long distances and most levels are fairly large allowing for plenty of sniping. I'm talking about in multiplayer of course.

There was one called Silent Scope that was a pretty badass arcade game. I think there was a PS1 version that was kind of shitty. If you can find a place that has the arcade version, you should give it a shot.

The only sniper based games I know are those Sniper flash games you find on Newgrounds and websites like that. But those are not serious.

Silent Scope 1,2 and 3 on the PS2 are your best bet. They aren't realistic though... Based on the arcade game where you actually used a plastic sniper rifle.

I admit i'm being a tad picky about the whole "Serious sniper" game.

Yeah, i played the arcade silent scope, I was Sheeeete XD

Sniper Elite was my most favourite game ever, it even did a slow-motion bullet-cam for Ace shots.

I haven't played Bf:Bc2, more of a COD person.

Silent Scope? Sniper Elite? Jack a sniper in most any modern shooter? There's not really a large market for just sniping games.

I hope I'm not going to be crucified for this but there's a game called JFK Reloaded that has a rather interesting physics engine when it comes to bullet movement. It's unfortunately tied to a rather specific and grim moment in history.

It has one of the coolest features ive seen in a game when you get a headshot. Its based around WW2 as well

I had fun with it. Maybe you should try it i doubt it would cost more than £10

Spec Ops: Ranger Elite for the PS1. Pretty good game. Failing that, just go for any Rail Shooter, they feel like sniping games of a fasion

Battlefield 2 has some nice bullet physics for sniper rifles
(granted, no wind factor)

I honestly thought I was the only one, it's like rare in my opinion, I was looking for Sniper Elite 2 for PC a while back but ending up getting Sniper Art of Victory, the bullet path when you get headshots is pretty sick, pity about the poor audio and story telling haha.

This, unlike that OTHER game has led people to believe, bullets aren't lazers that travel in a straight line over long distances.

First Sniper: Ghost Warrior (what a stupidly random name) has just been announced and it seems like exactly what you want.
However, it is being made by City Interactive, the guys behind Sniper: Art Of Victory, and that was lackluster.

Hahaha yeah. I think youre forgetting about how all the assualt rifles were also terrible and had like 10 rounds in a clip. Also i knew it wasnt common anyway because I have never heard anyone mention it ever.

Either way I enjoyed playing it. The headshotting thing is just so epic.

It's a game where you just snipe people. Wind conditions and things like that are taken into account.
