Just a little thing I whipped up this afternoon, I take no credit for any of the art, it's all on Google Image search.

I'm not a hardcore nerd, but all of those games would fit on one blu-ray disc, right? I mean, even if all the PS2 games used the whole DVDs that they are on (which I doubt, especially on the collections), that's only like 20gb, plus maybe another 5 for the other games.

Except we all know Capcom would never do this, it'd make too much sense.

That would be a bane aid solution that wouldn't solve their problems. When they go under, I'd be interested in seeing who buys them. Imagine if it was Disney? That thought both confounds and terrifies me.

Yeah that would probably make them a bit of money but a solution to their financial problems I think not dont forget these are past releases and the true fans would have the games already a bit like with the Darkstalkers franchise so why buy them again...again? apart from in the vain hope Capcom makes a new one. The new buyers would be minimal I feel (not as if it will be an impulse buy or they will be short on games). They have a load of awesome IPS that have a medium to small fanbase they just need to learn to market and budget accordingly not every game has to be AAA and aim for the 10 million sales mark. Also DLC and mobile games arent the future solid products at a good value are, just like it has always been.

I would buy that. And I've never even so much as played a Megaman game. But "ultimate collections" are a neat way of getting into a series.

Upside(?): Megaman and Co. figurines for Disney Infinity (if the game's still "relevant"...)
Downside(?): New Megaman TV series on Disney Channel XD (if they "felt" like it...)

I feel like you can switch the upside and downside at any time...

OT: I would say "Shut up and take my money" for something like that... But, I can't because it doesn't exist...

And now I'm sad...

(Then again, I'm pretty sure there are other IPs, with most of them appearing in Projext X Zone, that Capcom can focus on more... I guess...)

Sooooo... Marvel Vs. Capcom becomes Disney All-Stars?

Incredible Hulk vs. Donald Duck?
Goofy vs. Wolverine?
Buzz Lightyear vs. Ironman?

creating a collection of megaman games might help them a bit, but would it do well in the long run? not sure.. oh and can anyone please tell me where on this website you go to create a thread in the forums? cause I searched all over for like 10 minutes and couldn't find it or any info on where it is...

Go on to the section you'd like your thread to appear in and look up on the top left and you'll see a button for new topic :)

OT - I like the idea of releasing collections of games, not to save themselves but just because. Keep it nice and cheap and you will bring in a bigger audience that could then be attracted to your latest releases also. I'd imagine they might have some licensing issues, but that aside it's still a good idea. Maybe treat it a bit like the Humble Bundle?

Yeah, I mean at the very least they need to release the Anniversary Collection and the X Collection as PS2 Classics on the PSN store. Can't believe that hasn't happened yet.

And the Legends games while they're at it. The hell I'm going to pay $100 for misadventures of tron bonne on ebay.

I would like to see Nintendo buy the rights to Capcom's franchises. It would definitely give them some new IPs to work with.

I'm pretty sure the Japanese government would step in if the buyers aren't also from Japan.
They're quite protective of their domestic product; especially if it also has value outside of Japan.

Nintendo seems far more likely to me, since they've had a very long term relationship with Capcom.
I mean, Capcom is one of the only publishers who didn't completely blow the WiiU off, and supported the 3DS in its shitty first year. That's dedication.

(Still, Disney is already horrifyingly powerful, and I could see the appeal of them owning Capcom.)

What I'd wanna pitch to them is this:
"Just make the Monster Hunter series available on PC, please!"

I 'know' it's probably contractual obligations and all that but WHY is Monster Hunter so weird on the platform-releases? MH1 and 2 was for the PS2, then a bunch of stuff for the PSP and then they went to the Wii... Does anyone know why?

Don't forget disney owns star wars too.

Jango Fett, Buzz Lightyear, and Rocket Racoon vs. Deadpool, Mickey Mouse, and Mega Man, just to pull names out of a hat.

I'd like to preface this with the very clear statement that I RARELY play fighting games and have never become particularly good at any of them (sans smash brothers, because smash bros is awesome).

I would buy that game in a heartbeat. Literally one. And I would ditch school for the first time in my entire life to play it.

I dunno. Could you imagine a MegaMan movie on par with the recent Marvel movies? I wouldn't mind seeing that.

Anyway, solve Capcom's financial woes:

Step 1) Submit a public apology to Keiji Inafune and offer to rehire him
Step 2) Actually release MegaMan Legends 3
Step 3) ???
Step 4) Profit, literally.

I bet Donald could whip some ass. Of course Darkwing Duck would be way OP because he's Darkwing Duck. :p

OT: Yeah, Capcom has dug themselves a nice big pit to wallow around in. When they realized how deep down they were, they decided to try and dig their way out...which of course just makes the pit deeper.

Quite simply what could have saved them was not pissing in the faces of the Mega Man fanbase and the Mega Man franchise in general for all these years. How they thought it was a good idea to just completely wash their hands of what was essentially their Mario is just beyond me.

What's that? The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter broke all sorts of records by simply being a blatant, unapologetic rip-off of Mega Man? Raised more money than Inafune ever dreamed it would? Yeah, at this point Capcom can just go right on ahead and fuck itself for all I care. They had a golden goose and decided to just shit all over it until it finally flew the coop.

Capcom needs to go back to fighters that's what they're good at. Darkstalkers, Project Justice, Street Fighter, etc. that's what Capcom needs to concentrate on, these games are mostly cheap and have a strong following

As far as their other titles:

say what you will about Donte but DMC was the best selling DMC game of the series. Not to mention the most accessible, personally I prefer the new Dante, he's still a douche but at least he's not a white hair emo douche. Let's face it Dante was never a likable character

bring back Breath of Fire and Onimusha, and don't make them mobile games! Make them real games. For BoF use the BoF 1, 2, 3, and 4 formula. 2.5D graphics with a cool story and a turn based battle system and put it either on Vita or 3DS skip the consoles RPG's don't belong there anymore. Just look at how well Bravely Default did, hand helds are perfect for long a jrpg.

Whoever made Resident Evil Revelations should be given full control of the series and allow them to make a reboot. Give Chris some rest we don't want to see his ass anymore, give us Jill's ass and Leon. Everybody else can take a hike Jill and Leon are the only 2 characters most of the RE fanbase cares for.

Enough with the crappy Lost Planet series, move that team onto a Dino Crisis reboot!

Mega Man is dead it's over move on! Bring back Mega Man X, he was cooler and far more entertaining than Rock can ever be, outsource the game to Arc System Works (blazblue, Guilty Gear, Hard Corps Uprising)

Is Capcom even trying?

The last two Mega Man games were 8-bit for some unknown reason and I can't even remember when they came out.

DMC: Devil May Cry did a great job alienating the Devil May Cry fans and was a commercial failure.

Monster Hunter is exclusive to Nintendo platforms. Whoever decided that should be flogged.

At least Capcom is putting in some effort into Resident Evil, but they don't seem to have a clue what to do with it, and pissed off their fans.

The only thing that seems to be making Capcom any money is Street Fighter. They make some minor tweaks to Street Fighter 4 and sell it again. That's pure profit.

They should make a new Breath of Fire game since it's been forever. And how about a Dino Crisis reboot?
