First of all, please, please, PLEASE do not flag/lock this thread as advertising until you read the whole thing. I know I have a low post count and a probably-still-not-updated avatar, but I've lurked this site long enough to know that there are enough people in this site that could help me a great deal for a project that I've been intending to work on for quite some time, plus this thread could be a lot of fun for people that want a new look at video game music, or just want more!

I need music to play on an alternative radio station [http://www.radioactive.co.nz/] in my city (stream if you like, they play some pretty wild stuff sometimes). I can make an hour long show using any kind of music I want, so long as it's not the same 40 songs they play on loop on every other radio station. I've volunteered at the station before, and have been told I can make a show so long as I give them a list of 100 songs that I'd play.

Here's the basic idea:

Make and start a live radio show (that gets broadcast all across Wellington, New Zealand's capital city) based on video game music, news and culture. I have the resources and knowledge (Diploma in Broadcasting from the New Zealand Radio Training School [http://www.broadcasting.co.nz/index.html]) for this to happen, but I'd like to know what The Escapist would want and expect in such a show so that I have some other standards to meet.

Because this is a live station with potential listeners, I'd need to play within the demographic. Basically, none of this -

... and a whole bunch of this

(I know Tetris is a bit overdone, but you catch my drift)

Radio Active is Wellington's #1 independent radio station, with loads of DJs taking their own time to play everything from Black-thrash-super-angrycore to Ambient-shitweird broadcast around the city, and streamed live on the website.

The problem is, I never really collected video game music. I love games, I love music, but I've never gone out of my way to do something about it and mix the two. This is where you all come in, Escapists. I need a list. One hell of a list, and more. Much, much more. Give me your youtube links. Give me your sources. Hell, give me your libraries if you can. I need one hefty stack of music to make this idea turn into a reality, and I would really, really, REALLY like your help to do it.

So come on, show us what you've got. It doesn't have to be funny, it doesn't have to be serious, it doesn't even need to be more than a Mega-man sample with a bass drop, so long as it's something that the live listeners will listen to and enjoy, while getting to play some simply swag music.

I think I've gone on enough. If there's anything you'd like to know about Radio Active, myself or anything else that springs to mind, please feel free to ask. I'll answer as quickly as I can.

Oh, my DJ name will be the same as my username.
