So after examining what a more advanced eye-toy could be used for i drew nothing but blanks besides the usual Wii Shovelware and hack and slash.

But then i remembered a little known series from the origin of gaming. So what if they brought back Myst and you solved all the puzzles by Kinect recognition. Like pulling levers, picking up and moving objects i mean come on the puzzle possibilities are endless. If they add a decent story, voice acting, and next-gen graphics it could be a real success.

I dont know how movement would work but it would really re-vitalize the point and click adventure/puzzle adventure genre.

I think that would be great for Kinect use, point and click adventure games and whatnot.

Another genre that could be interesting to see if it'd work, and extremely awesome if it did, RTS...es. With voice command and motion detecting, if it worked it would be a game changer for the genre.

Now THAT would be cool, I'm a big fan of puzzle games and unfortunately Myst was before my time (My father enjoyed the series, I remember him talking about getting the third one when it came out for xbox but it never came to fruition) so I'd be all for it (as long as Myst has some kind of incredibly complex story-arch behind the lighthouse and shape-matching which would mean I wouldn't have a clue what was going on).

As for Kinect itself, personally I don't own one but my tech-savvy father is wanting one for Christmas. I'd be all for it, anytime I play Wii at a mate's house I have a blast, and meaning I could have that fun while not having the kerfuffles of buying and maintaining a Wii is a plus for me.

Kudos.

Myst might well be interesting to see in Kinect controls, or perhaps a new shadowgate (which aint happenin)

I think we might see more innovation from the 360 compared to the move with this.

My question is now, how much longer till we get the scaled back incarnations of this to be used as PC addons and programs and applications?

Still not sold on the Kinect. Not sold on the Move either. Or even the Wii...

Basically, I'm not sold on motion controls. Maybe I'm lazy, but flailing around like an idiot for X amount of time does not appeal to me. Nor does doing it after a hard days work. And there haven't been a lot of truly amazing games on the Wii to be honest. A large number of the major games can be and largely are played with classic controllers or Gamecube controllers. I'm thinking of Smash Bros and Super Mario Wii. Know a guy that literally calls his Wii his "Gamecube Wii" because he mostly plays Gamecube games on it.

I'll admit that the idea of controlling a RTS with just your hands sounds cool, but I'm skeptical if anyone could pull it off. And directly affecting Kinect, I can't see it being well utilized in a FPS game. Which is something I'll give the Wii and the Move.
[sub]Don't think I'm alone in my doubt of motion controls because Ubisoft announced that they had no plans to make any more games for the Wii.[/sub]
