A Young Film Maker Needs Your Help

A friend of mine is a film student looking to get his first film project off the ground.
I?m sure most of you have heard about Kick Starter in one way or another, and I hope you can find some generosity in your hearts and/or wallets to help contribute or help spread the word to those that can donate. He has a great selection of special rewards for each level of donation and I hope you can spend some time to help out an up and coming young film maker. Unfortunately, he guessed that Kick Starter would find him donors faster than it actually has. The deadline is almost up and the sooner he gets the money he needs, the sooner he can make his movie and provide people with the rewards.

I've got a couple of friends studying the film industry who've made many projects, paying the costs out of their already empty pockets, working months, even for free to get the job, on film production studios, only to get connections and experience.

Hey this is the Director of the Slankmann Project!

I've been in film school for two years and have made some shorts on 8mm film that I had to develop myself. No one I sent the idea to replied back in a kind way due to the fact I am a nobody. I wrote the script myself and have a strong background in writing fiction. The script was edited by 20 random people and my close friends. i have years of sound mixing and editing experience from various community projects. I know how to operate a classic film projector and own an old super 8 from 1979 that I film experimental film on.

I went to kickstarter because my job pays shit and my family lost their house and I'm only in college because of financial aid. We are all poor college kids with either no job or a job that only covers part of our tuition. The reason we are asking for the amount we are is because equipment is more expensive than most people think and we want it to look nice. I'm not going to make a poor quality film.

Everyone has to start somewhere so I'm trying to start my story here. If I had any other option of getting the money I would, but it just isn't there.
