First of all, hullooo people. Longtime lurker rising from the shadows to join this community.
Secondly. Steam just went through a new, big, shiny update for me and what I am seeing atm is very, VERY nice.
* The first list that comes up is of "popular new releases", meaning we get a mix of the popular and the new, a great way, if it works, to get away from the drowning in the nonsense games but at the same time getting a look at what's new and fresh
* There's a curator system described as "individuals or organizations that make recommendations to help others discover interesting games in the Steam catalog." Pretty much what GOG already had, but hey now steam has it too.
* A, from what I can tell, expended system of recommendations contingent on what you wish for, what you've recently been viewing etc.
These are the features I see atm, and there's no doubt more. I wanted to ask what the rest of you think about this change, me personally I LOVE what I'm seeing. It seems to address so many of the things that people have been complaining about when it comes to steam. Would like to see what Jim Sterling says about this. Isn't this a good way to handle what he spoke of only as recently as... well today?
