I wanted to know here on the Escapist which games which to you, you would consider as an all time classic but is seriously under-rated or just forgotten about, or if you think a game should be revamped and brought back.

I think the game that should be re-visited is System Shock 2, there was something so damn awesome about the game i found myself constantely wanting to play it, and it happily rests on my desktop today along with greats such as HL2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

No One Lives Forever.

One part James Bond, one part Austin Powers, and 2 parts Perfect Dark. Plain old awesome.

Not really a game, but I'm saying it anyhow: Desert Crisis, HL1 mod. Quite possibly the most fun I've ever had playing an on-line game, period. If you asked me to say specifically why, I could not but the fact remains it was awesome for some strange, sublime reason. It was abandoned around the 1.05 beta though the dev team was working on a new project for a while, it eventually came to naught as well. The one guy did go on to work on such titles as Metroid Prime, Bloodrayne 2 and Fallout 3... heh heh.

Dark Cloud and ./Hack: Infection

Both were great RPGs in their time, and the original Hack series still is one I'd definetly recommend to everyone. It has so much character depth, storyline, and even straight forward yet amazingly pretty (in a primal sort of way...) combat.

Dark Cloud, I haven't played in a while, but it was a very original idea and they did well with it. I'd also recommend you all to buy it. You can probably find it at a used gaming store, or old for that matter.

Both are for PS2.

Def Jam: Fight For NY.

To me, this game had one the best and original fighting game/wrestling systems ever made. Very fluid, easy to use, great contact, amazing graphics for the PS2, and in general a really fun game. It's basically the video game version of Fight Club (and even though Fight Club has a game, I am unwilling to accept that) except we replaced Brad Pitt with Method Man and Edward Norton for you. They came out with another Def Jam game for the 360, but it was a big, stinking piece and everyone knows it. They got rid of the amazing fighting system, the fighting styles system, the awesome AWESOME special moves, everything that made the game great. They just tossed it out the window.

I really wish they'd remake it, or give it a proper sequel. Or even just another unrelated game with the same fighting system. It was an amazing game, and I still hold it as one of my favorites.

Did anyone else play it and love it? Or is it just me?

Wizards and Warriors. Sure, there were three games for the NES, but who wouldn't want to see Kuros again? Last we saw him, he was blasted forward in time, so maybe he'll show up in some sor of whimsical steampunk environment...

Lylat Wars,

Once the defacto measure of skill at my high school, now part of a largely forgotten genre.

Deus Ex, the original. Living in New Orleans, I always get a happy buzz when I shoot the FEMA director in the head. (Not spoilered, I figure everyone's played it)

Indigo Prophecy- It was a great game that just happened to get a little towards the end, but I never see it anymore and I've only heard it mentioned once, anywhere.

i'll love you
There are text adventure games, in a sense. Try online Dungeons and Dragons or World of Darkness or something, barring that go check out sites like www.abandonia.com and go wild. Oldies sometimes are goodies.
