about "Anthony Saves the World"

I like(d) HAWP. The original stuff was hilarious, but then it became popular and they didn't make them as often and they weren't as funny (with some exceptions). I find, no...I KNOW Anthony Burch is an intelligent individual with a gift for words and a unique perspective about things.

That being said...the only reason I'm watching "Anthony Saves the World" is because of the giant side banners telling me I'll get badges. Okay, it's probably because I'm bored, too. I don't really care about badges, or at least it's Skinner Box strategy winning me over yet again, but the point is...does anyone watch this show regularly and enjoy it? There are certain shows on this site I make a point to watch each week (and I'm actually missing Lisa Foiles, which surprises me a little). I guess I would very much like to "enjoy" AStW but it does nothing for me.

Help me out, people. Tell me what I'm missing, or help me better understand the show so I can appreciate it at the level you do.

I'll admit to ignoring the ads, too. In fact, sometimes you accidentally click the wrong place and another window opens for an ad. Escapist isn't as bad as other sites, though. One site in particular I feel like writing a post titled "Mind the Potholes" and ranting about how you can't even navigate the page without hitting a few mandatory ads.

I'll give the show a proper watch, I have nothing to lose really. Who knows, maybe it started slow and got better over time?

Yeah I don't like it at all. Then again all of the shows that I like seem to be leaving or changing into shows I dislike.

LRR is all lists and cats now, Doraleous went away and so did ENN. At least we got Miracle of sound now, even if only 1/5 of his songs are worth listening to.

I enjoyed it. I never watched any of the older narrative shows, so it was a bit of a new experience for me, and it was pretty good in some parts.

I enjoyed it and noticed I got no badge for watching all the episodes.

I only started watching it when Mikey guilt-tripped me into it on the podcast. Good strategy, because I really enjoyed it. Especially the puppet thing.

PS: This is all my opinion.

I find the site knows what I like, it puts the videos I want right at the top: Zero Punctuation, Extra Credits, Escape to the Movies, The Big Picture (wasn't into it originally but it has grown on me). Same with Lisa's Top 5. I was quick to write her off as a bimbo but actually she's pretty cool and funny. Other than that I don't really watch anything (sometimes Daily Drop).

Anthony Burch said games shouldn't be fun. Why should I respect this person or watch his show? Which I did watch one episode before I knew of his gaffe and it wasn't enjoyable at all.

Also I love how everyone constantly belches out the words "Skinner Box" on this site without a clue what it means. (Including Floyd and Portnow.)

Wasn't the statement that games should not only be fun? (Googling it to jog my memory reinforces that).

Skinners Box: One of a thousand articles on it [http://www.juliantrubin.com/bigten/skinnerbox.html]. Pretty much what everyone is believing the Skinners Box to be. Whether you heard from it here, or learned from it in school (like me).

I watched it for the badges as well. It was alright. It had it's moments that were pretty funny, such as the Pokémon cards. Overall it was pretty meh. The camerawork threw me off. The acting was good, but that camerawork... Ugh...

I enjoyed it. It was quite fun, short but fun. kind of like Vanquish.
Alot of funny things like using pokemon cards as currency and "Why are we puppets?" "dang, what gave it away"

It had some clever bits, but they were buried under some sub-par fight scenes and melodrama. So, for season two a more increased focus on the humor would be nice.
