Hi all! I just finished AC Brotherhood and my head is swimming with possibilities for future plot details.

Is subject 16 actually Desmond's son?

Is his son also in a future where the Templars have beaten the assassins and created a dystopian, Orwellian nightmare?

Is he himself strapped to an animus, desperately attempting to sift through both Desmond and Ezio's memories for a certain something/s to defeat the Templar's?

Has Desmond's son found a way to contact his ancestors through the animus?

Is the mysterious Minerva in fact sympathetic to the Templar's cause?

When forcing Desmond to stab Lucy, was she (Minerva) hoping to kill his unborn son (assuming that Dez and Lucy ever have time to date...) thereby simultaneously ending the line of assassins and replicating the plot of terminator?

Anyone else got ideas?

Desmond finally notices the trend that all Standard History Villains are Templars or allies thereof and all Standard History Heroes are Assassins or allies thereof, adds two and two together and sees that the Animus is in fact an Assassin tool, and it's the Assassins who are bent on ruling the world.

Oh, who am I kidding, the story will still be the black & white nonsense rife with pseudo-historical myth... And I will keep dismissing it and loving the gameplay.

I finished the game without any of that extra stuff, so I'm still extremely confused. So mind-controlling aliens had Desmond kill him and whats-her-face so something could happen. wtf!?! Anyway, I look forward to seeing how they try to explain that :D

I don't think Desmond was forced by Minerva to kill Lucy. I think he just got fed up of her and fancied her friend, and the whole end sequence just made a really convenient way to not have to go through an awkward breakup. "Oh yea, I was... errrr... forced to do it by a piece of Eden. Yeah, I was distraught, it was awful, I need to make out with someone to ease the pain. So... fancy some?"

Since Subject 16 seems to be dead before Lucy and Desmond even meet, I can't see the theory of him being their son working. Father maybe.

That Desmend realizes that the assassins are really blood mages from Ubisoft tricking him into helping them rule the world and enslaving everyone!

1: Is subject 16 actually Desmond's son?

2: Is his son also in a future where the Templars have beaten the assassins and created a dystopian, Orwellian nightmare?

3: Is he himself strapped to an animus, desperately attempting to sift through both Desmond and Ezio's memories for a certain something/s to defeat the Templar's?

4: Has Desmond's son found a way to contact his ancestors through the animus?

5: Is the mysterious Minerva in fact sympathetic to the Templar's cause?

6: When forcing Desmond to stab Lucy, was she (Minerva) hoping to kill his unborn son (assuming that Dez and Lucy ever have time to date...) thereby simultaneously ending the line of assassins and replicating the plot of terminator?
I've numbered them to link to my answers
1: Doubtful, all we know at the moment is subject 16 was placed in the animus before Desmond and "killed" himself as the machine drove him mad (he used his blood to write the graphics on the walls and floor at the end of Assassin's Creed) also Desmond's 25 and subject 16 was an adult!
2: Unknown
3: see answer to 2
4: it is possible to leave clues in the animus as subject 16 did with the glyphs/clusters
5: Minerva is the Goddess in the vault under the vatican as seen at the end of AC: II she takes no side only warns Desmond (thru Ezio) of the forth comming danger.
6: It was the Goddess Juno that took control of Desmond, before making Desmond stab Lucy she say's "The final journey commences. There is one who would accompany you through the gate. She lies not within our sight. The cross darkens the horizon" leading people to believe that Lucy is a Templar.

Now stop thinking so hard and have a lie down (then play it again!)
