Today I was making a wooden puzzle which needed me to saw lots of different shapes. But I was talking to someone at the time aswell as sawing these shapes and I cut some of my thumb off by accident. Having done this I quickly went to the hospital to get a couple stitches.
I also know of how stupid I was, but the reason behind me writing this is have any of you cut or hurt yourself by not looking at what you are doing or not knowing what you are doing?

Tile-carving in art class, middle school.

Shoved a sharpened pick straight to the bone in my left thumb.

I stepped on a shell or piece of glass at the beach and sliced a bit of my foot off, which required stitches.
I didn't look down at my feet, does that count?

Also I went back to the beach, hoping to find whatever cut me, never did. That bastard owes me a rematch!

I once cut myself with scissors. I was bleeding for around 30 minutes, in school, before anyone told me.

I had blood dripping down my arm, and I hadn't noticed.

The school ended up sending me to the hospital for, wait for it, a bandage.

Yeah, it was a fun day.

Does a die grinder count? Cut a nice chunk out of my thigh (upper thigh...about pissed myself. right near the artery and other important bits).
Also a weed wacker to the knee and a garden hoe to my scalp (someone else hit me).
Never actually cut myself with a knife though...weird.

I cut a vein one time in my right pointer finger while trying to punch a hole in some felt with a pair of scissors. I'd cut myself a couple times before, so I just wrapped it in some tissue paper. The problem was it just kept bleeding. So I had to get it wrapped up and have a splint put on it so the skin would heal correctly. I still have the scar from the cut though!

And altough it wasn't me, a friend from high school accidently cut off part of one of his ring fingers (I always forget which one) when he was like 5. So one of them is a lot shorter than the rest now.

I'm surprisingly accident-proof. I've never caused serious injury to myself. Had it caused to me by others, yes. And sports injuries don't count.

Cut myself trying to pry open and adjust a belt buckle with a knife; part of my right thumb was just hanging there, exposing the bone. I remember our watch officer looking quite pale as he dialed in the emergency.
Now I have a weird arrow-shaped scar all across my thumb.

You know those giant bladed paper cutters that they have sometimes? The one the punisher used to kill that big striped fuck in the movie. I dropped the blade, caught it, and sliced my hand. Owie! Mommy!!! [sub]*what!?!*[/sub] I hurted myself! :') [sub]so good[/sub]

I whacked myself just above the eye with a sword once. Twas the smallest one in a sword set (unsharpened) and I was twirling it around with my wrist (which I have done many times before with longer and sharp swords). I got distracted and got whacked. Only thing damaged was my pride. It probably hurt the blade more, twas a cheapo set I got from work (we primarily sell stuff like chocolates, kitchen stuff, and women's clothing).

I have luckily been able to avoid severe accidents despite being currently surrounded by sharp objects (which luckily have scabbards).

Yep. I used to work in a kitchen for a fairly upscale restaurant. We got our knives sharpened by a separate company twice a week, and they usually came back ultra-sharp. I was chopping up a head of lettuce and was distracted by a friend talking, so I looked up. The next time I looked down, I realized that blood was everywhere and my fingertip was missing. I never even noticed that I cut myself. Totally awesome. I got it checked out and returned to work the same day, because I'm totally epic.

Whenever you work with barbed wire you will be cut, many many many times. Its quite funny actually, you will have so many little cuts that it looks like you have done something really serious, when in reality its no worse than having a cat scratch you.

Was using it to grind a rounded piece of iron which was resting on my leg. The piece slipped , jeans protected me for a nanosecond, flesh got ground, and then I reacted. Can't remember why exactly I was holding it that way but meh...made a sweet scar.

I ran into a lamppost. Twice. Same one. Same day.

Though my friend pushed me out front without either of us being aware the first time.

Not exactly the same question, but one of my co-workers at the pizza shop I work at managed to cut himself on an anchovy...

Once when I was quite young I was at an ice-rink, they had a line for limbo so I got in and accidentally fell over, I wasn't looking as I attempted to get back on my feet and as my hand was in the area of the line a kid skated right across the palm of my hand.

Needless to say it resulted in a pretty painful, though nonetheless badass, scar.

Weel, I was opening a tin of something. Forgotten what it was now. And I heard a sneeze, looked up and saw it was my Guinea Pig who did it. I grinned, look back down and realised I had a sharp pain in my thumb.
Turns out the tin top had cut through to the bone. :3
Fun times, but not a cool scar, unfortuantly.
