I'm here to talk about those achievements that you saw when you first gazed upon the list of achievements and spotted one or two that you thought would impossible to unlock. Then, a few months or even years later you miraculously achieved the unachievable and unlocked it!

As of four hours ago, me and three of my Borderlands veteran friends defeated Crawmerax The Invincible, the super, ultimate, mega, SUPREME boss in Borderlands' The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC. When I first fought Crawmerax I though to myself "Fuck you Gearbox." But now my friends and I have overcome Borderlands' toughest boss with a reward of some sweet loot and a hefty 50Gs six months later.

So I as I said. Have you ever been able to overcome achievements that you thought would be impossible?

All the flag achievements in Assassin's Creed. I really didn't think I had it in me to care enough to track them all down.

Collect All Audio Diaries in Bioshock. Again, never though I had it in me to care enough.

Really, any collection achievement.

Oh, and beating Mass Effect on Insanity. I just don't do high difficulties very often.

Finding all 100 steel ingots in Fallout 3, The Pitt. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be...

Oh, and feathers in AC2

I only have one more achievement to get on Mass Effect 2. Complete on insanity, so I thought, what the hell, and I'm currently giving it a shot. It's not actually that hard, just don't stay out of cover that long...

Left 4 Dead - Untouchables.

For those who don't know, it's survive a campaign finale with no damage taken by anyone. ANYONE.

And I joined a random game in progress... and got it two minutes after.

Gaming is weird, sometimes.

None Shall pass on Mount & Blade Warband. 847 warriors outside my castle, 100 complete retards inside, and I said "Fuck this", walked out onto the enemy siege tower with a great sword, and killed people until my character was completely red with their blood. In the end, not a single one reached the wall. That felt good.:)

There are a lot of achievements that I got on Team Fortress 2 that I though I would never get because I didn't actually do what they wanted me to. It's like they just gave me a few achievements for shits and giggles.

Same thing happened to me, though this was after hours of trying the achievement with friends to no avail. We played a versus game with some other people. I lagged out, and had to rejoin the game on the other team. In the finale, 2 other players died, 1 was incapped, and I just barely jumped onto the rescue vehicle with 35 health or so.

Then I get the achievement out of nowhere.

To say my friends and I were bewildered would be an understatement.

Just yesterday I became the Master f the Thieves Guild in Oblivion. This is about three years after I got my Xbox, and a bout three years after I bought Oblivion. Not to mention the three years of procrastinating and new characters after I failed at the last quest the first time round.

Get all the feathers in Screed: Brohood.
Of course, I thought there'd be more than 10. And I didn't think you could get maps for them.

Finishing the first Uncharted on Crushing. I remember just sitting there on the credits thinking "I'm never doing that again..."
Then they go and add trophies and here I still am, envying the me of a few years back that could somehow get past this crazy crap-storm of difficulty.
