I don't know if things are as serious as people are saying, but I AM relatively concerned.

Hearing this, I realise how screwed we are here in Holland already. New games go at about 60, 70 euro a piece over here...

It's only Activision so far, no need to go to red alert just yet.

Not gonna bother me too much, I'm still picking out PS2 games from the 10$ bin. but in the interest of others, that really isn't fair, games are expensive as it is. And as always, Activision is the pioneer of corporate douschebaggery so I'm not too worried.

If that's the best representation the consumers are going to get in this then consumers might as well kiss their collective asses goodbye.

Besides, prices on games need to change. It's only fair that if I argue that a game with lower than average development costs should be priced lower than the typical $60 USD tag, then I should also argue that games with higher than average development costs should be able to price themselves accordingly as well.

To do otherwise would be hypocritical.

There is supposedly a petition up somewhere on the net, but I've been unable to locate it.

I'm reluctant to buy at the current market price, let alone buy at a higher one than the market value. I thought the whole point of capitalism was to keep prices down?

I thought the video was a bit extreme... all I'm going to do to combat this is to not buy a game that costs £55. My ceiling is £40 and it has to be an exceptional game to warrant that. I normally wait till a game has reached the £30 mark before buying it, and I remember when £25 was a really expensive price for a game.

I'm glad people are actually trying to do something about this. I still doubt this will work sadly.

Can you resist MW 2? can you really? come on buy it, you know you want to ;)
Price? ooooh but theres so much inside, well scripted levels and stuff, its COD4 on Cocaine
MW 2 is like Cocain to you, it is Cocain as long as your concerned, you cannot resist, if the Media Tv adds dont get you with their in game gameplay the bus stop adds will.
Not enough money? get a loan, steal from your parents, you'll never want another game
MW 3? it'll be cheaper we promise, would we lie to you?

You cannot Run, you cannot Resist, BUY IT

how strange, by now i would of thought Kotick and pictures of him being changed to look like satan would be rampant

I'll probably buy it now matter how much it costs.
Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it.

And think about it, i would gladly pay an extra $20 or $30 if it means whiney 'HAKZ' screaming 13 year olds wont be able to afford it, at least until its bargain binned.

Okay, I admit, I'm curious.
What the fuck is "MW 2?"
I can't think of any game that alluring with those initials.

Anyway, meh. As I've said before, if they raise their prices...
Well, I won't be too bothered - I don't think I buy any of their games anyway, though it's not intentional.
Modern Warfare 2

Mechwarrior 2. It is an Activision title but I'm not sure why it is causing so much of a brouhaha so long after it was released.

This guy needs to calm down, if other company's follow suit people will just simply not be able to buy and the problem will sort itself out.

Or, give it time till the next console generation when a lot more full/retail games will be available for digital download, making a huge dent in the pre-owned market.
