Wow. I was wondering how long till they rebooted it.

......What? You thought they would leave it dead forever?

And they're changing it how exactly?

Oh, I know, it's just going to be called "Guitar Hero" instead of Guitar Hero 16.

Fuck that. Release more DJ Hero content and I'll actually give a damn.
Exactly. I have no idea what he's talking about when he says DJ Hero was a bad idea. I loved it and so did everyone else who played it.

I would consider re-accepting Guitar Hero if it was simply about putting songs up and playing them instead of having customizable characters and other nonsense that had nothing to do with the actual music.

How do you reboot a game with no plot?
Basically this, and what's the point of "rebooting" something that was buried alive and still just barely breathing? Also, Rock Band still exists, so... yeah, good luck with that (although I think GH guitar > RB guitar, personally).

You can reboot a novelty? One year after it's been killed by excessive milking? Oh Activision, you're a little late on the reboot fad...and you're not doing it right.

Hopefully never.
Ever.
Honestly, It'd be nice if they left it for five or six years, that way we could have the party game craze once again.
This way we have more casual players investing in a new system.

I like how they only killed if for a few months. That's not killing it. That's not even a hiatus. That's just not releasing a game every 10 minutes, you know, like normal people do.

lol they'll reboot it by following rocksmith idea of using a real guitar to teach ppl how to actually play, aside from "rock'in" on fisherprice toys?

LOL, that article was pretty funny. I like how he thinks he wasn't shoving Guitar Hero but DJ Hero down our throats. That whole article is hilarious. I wonder what his excuse will be when GH6 under-performs. *crosses fingers* Blame CoD, Blame CoD! Hehe, naw, he'll probably blame Band Hero distracted them.

It will probably be the exact same game but now darker, edgier, and grittier. That is what developers consider innovation as nowadays.

What if. They shut down Guitar Hero and are now rebooting it to force people who bought DLC songs for the old games to rebuild their song collection from scratch. Or because they're going to go the Rock Band path of using the guitar/drums/piano trainer thing (I haven't played it yet, but I know it's supposed to be more like actually playing the instrument) and they want every song to have the option to play at every level, instead of some songs being only available to play in the old hold colored button hit lever method.

That would be not bad... They "killed off" Guitar Hero so the new version could require the new peripherals, requiring us all to repurchase the entire set. In return, we get a one disk game with some of the badass tracks they used up in the first three games all set up for use with the full drums/guitar input method (plus the mic, the previous lack of which meant GH2 never rated me warbling along to Carry on my Wayward Son). They could even include new instruments. Like the harmonica. Or contrabass.

Or, you know. Cash in. What was up with all that positive attitude before?
