Who cares? Isn't it individuality that matters, not age?
That is such a teenage thing to say..

OT: There's a fair number of 'adults' here. By which I mean users who are married, mortgaged, divorced, parenting etc.

But the overwhelming majority are teens and early twenties. See, we've got the time to faff around here.

33, children, mortgage and job but my interests haven't changed much from when I was a teenager. I remember playing Truxton on a friend's import Japanese Megadrive in 1991 and chatting about whether we'd still be playing video games when we were old, I said I couldn't imagine growing out of them and I still can't now.

I am 20... that makes me an adult, right?

Having not read any of the comments after the 2nd one I think it is safe to assume I am the only person who isnt a teenager to post... :D

I'm 17.

To every teenager who's posted about how they're 'more mature' than their peers, no.

No, you're not.

I went through the same thing when I was 15, thinking I was above everyone else because I got better grades, didn't talk in slang and had good general knowledge.

I look back on those days and cringe. And I know full well that in a few years I'll look back on these days and cringe just as hard.

Posting on a gaming website doesn't make you more mature in any way, maturity isn't how well you explain yourself or how clever you are.

Maturity is just having developed and experienced enough to deal with situations in the proper way. People getting angry and indignant on the internet doesn't exactly fit that definition, quite the opposite.

And for the love of god DuplicateValue, shut up. Logical fallacies galore.

Mind pointing out these "logical fallacies"? I'm ready to learn, if you're able to teach me.

25, mortgage, husband, job stress, etc., and I was wondering the same thing about this forum. I love gaming, but it's really strange for me to be on a forum where the majority of the members are teenagers. Based on my widespread lurking, I do think that the teenagers here are pretty mature compared to other sites (with the exception of the religion/politics sub-forum, which is a goddamn mess). It's hard to find a good gaming forum where people use passable spelling and grammar, and are generally thoughtful and logical in their responses, but I think this forum has pretty smart, mature members.

Oh yes, I also have a car payment, insurance, rent, bills, a job, and my very own bank account. I also got an accountant and a lawyer too. It sounds glamorous I knnow, but I really miss my 18-20 years alot.

I'm 20, which apparently makes me an adult. And I certainly feel old when some 12 year old posts a thread asking how long you've been gaming for, and I've been gaming longer than they've been alive.

I'm new here and have only been posting for a few days. Today I checked out a few profiles and noticed most of the people here are in their teens. Now I'm starting to feel like a weirdo for being here. Are there any grown-ups here? (By grown-up I mean independent, living apart from your parents, credit cards, keys, the whole shebang.)

now wait a minute,
i pay rent to my parents because i had to move back in due to financial reasons does that mean i'm not a grown up? and i'm going to be 25 in 2 weeks.....

You mightn't have noticed, but when you read someone's post on these forums, you can't tell whether they are a teenager or an adult
You're speaking for the entirety of the escapist website when you only have your experience to go by. You early argued that because someone hadn't been to your school they had no idea how you compared to other teenagers. Cool conflicting arguments there.

Adult here, I have 2 cars, my own flat and a job. Mature enough?
Yes, because material objects are a direct indication of how mature you are.
I'd say that holding down a job, earning enough to support and pay for yourself and being able to afford luxuries as extravagant as two cars imply a certain amount of maturity, yes. Are you saying that an immature person would be able to keep a job and sustain himself as well as this guy has done?

Also, stop with sarcastic finger quotes with "Logical fallacies" and "Adults" (which didn't even need quotes, they ARE legally adults). It's immature.
