Dangit, ninja'd.

The second thing I thought of when I saw this was, "huh, this looks familiar." So, d'you think this will have repercussions or show up in the news as "Gaming did it!"? Or are we far enough removed from the MW2 controversy for this to fly over people's heads?

We've got someone to blame for this, apart from them violent games.

This is horrible but unfortunately Russia's relationship with neighbouring islamic states has never been brilliant, this kind of thing will continue to happen for as long as no one tries to broker peace.
Which ones exacly, if you don't mind?

It is, of course, a tragedy that this would even happen or need to happen ( not saying that it should have happened). My condolences are with the families of the victims, and the injured. For the people worried about if this incident is going to be associated with gaming in any way shape or form, I think that the gaming community as a whole will be fine, and yet again we have nothing to worry about. Yet again I hope the injured come through, and the perpetrators are caught, and are punished.

Sad to say; the very first thing I thought of when I read the news was the MW2 case...

Condolences to the victims' families and the injured.

Chechnya is the obvious pick after that theatre siege a few years ago.
Chechnya has always been part of Russia, quite officially.

As for the gaming is evil topic, computer games are not associated with violence in Russia the way they are in other countries, like the US or Germany. In either way, you'd have to try hard to find a game that would romanticise suicide bombing, which is the case here.

Thinking that people will blame this on gaming is ridiculous. First of all, the scenario isn't at all similar to the one in MW2. All it has in common is the setting. Second of all, the suicide bombers weren't people who would be likely to play MW2, or any videogame for that matter, in the first place.

Yeah. Sad that people are dead and stuff. Not really remarkable though.

Firstly, and most importantly, all of the victims, families and the doctors working to save people are in my prayers. I hope the best, and that the doctors can do everything in their power for the injured.

Secondly, I suspect revenge will be swift.

Who gives an arse about videogames in a story like this...? C'mon guys, airport bombings were around before MW2 -____-'.

Deeply sad story. Goes to show that nobody's safe, and at the end of the day, we're all on the same side against Islamic extremists.

Condolences to the dead's families.

We're too far removed.

Also this is a bombing and in MW2 it was just 4 guys shooting everyone they saw in the airport
Called it. [http://www.gamespot.com/news/6286915.html?tag=latestheadlines%3Btitle%3B1]

For the sake of explanation, the videogame tangent was the second thing I thought of; the first was more along the lines of "what a tragedy."
