As ocean temperatures rise, 1 billion crabs go missing, causing cancellation of Alaskan snow crab season
This marks the first time that the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has canceled the winter snow crab season, coming as a consequence of their massive population drop.
Over the last couple of years a billion snow crabs have disappeared from Alaskan water, 90% of the crab population. Current theories are disease or climate change pushing them away.
