It's weird how fast things go. It still feels like my favorite albums from back in 2008 were still released just months ago. All Hope Is Gone, Singularity, Shogun, Ultra Beatdown... So before we lose grip of time, what was your favorite album of 2009? For me, it's a hard one, as most of my recent favorites came out in 2008, obviously. So I'll have to say one of these two:
For all guitar lovers, hell, even for those who aren't that into guitars, Steve's energetic live performances and funny little jokes is shown in this great little DVD/CD. We're also introduced to a new band, who all gets to show off with their inhuman skills. We have guitar solos, bass solos, drum solos, and violin solos, as well as the best from Steve Vai's repertoire. A recommendation to everyone who likes well orchestrated music, both touching and heavy guitar solos, and a good looking man in leather pants.
Say what you want about Depeche Mode, but they know how to make good music. This is a slow-moving, but heavy and yet soothing album. Once again the trio of synthpop and electronic music has prevailed in delivering a deep and touching musical experience. And while it isn't their best album, *cough*Violator*cough*, it contains an amount of great gems like the slow and heavy "Peace", the haunting "Come Back", and the monotone (it actually works), yet mind-catching "Wrong" that will all leave you happy that you bought this CD with weird cover art. This is one hell of an album that will amaze and entertain.
