3 Expansion level DLCs in a Season Pass.

Seriously its like Ubisoft is going all out with this one game alone.

Zombies, Vietnam, Space? Heck you guys had me at Nam.

Now I am all the more interested in getting this game.

I guess dragon blood did really well so they decided to keep going in that direction. I think it's the good way to do this, for all intend and purpose primal was also just a spin off re using the map/engine, but selling it at full price was crazy.

But as far as those go... I dunno, after going trough the regular mission I rarely feel like more of the same right away, and then I just forget about those. So I doubt I'll be buying those.

Uh! The cringe! God that was painful to listen to.

Don't get me wrong, its trashy and campy B-movie and looks fun, but that was just a terrible trailer. They used the word 'radical' for fucks sake! Why?! The 90s are over, and they were pretty terrible at the time anyway.

Now I actually might get this game, 'cause the whole redneck Evangelical cult vibe looks amusing, but no, new DLC and season passes won't do it for me. Even if the DLC are actually fun, I ain't pre-ordering shit. If I get this game, I'll get in 6 months after launch, after the day-1 patches and day-90 patches go in, its been reviewed, and is at 50% off for sale.

Almost everything about this game looks great.

Almost.

The graphics look like dogshit though, I hope the PC version looks a lot better.

Yeah I think they're capitalizing on the success that was Blood Dragon, I mean can't blame them really since that's what businesses do, and lazer-fluoro 80's was awesome. The trailer was cringy but not that bad, he used radical in somewhat appropriate context, not like ninja turtles "radical dude!" kinda radical.

But yeah I'm 100% with you on waiting till it's all in one nice package at fraction price, and reviews will tell how well the premise of evangelical cult gets pulled off.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to wait for this one. Ubisoft may be the lesser of the three AAA evils right now but they're still definitely under my heavy scrutiny.

It looks like more of same. just another far cry game in different setting.
And Duke Nukem, Blood, and Shadow Warrior were not?
but they were 1997 games. less resources to make, less budget.

sequels should evolve. this far cry is FC 3.5. but in different setting.

Look at how Half life 2 evolved From Half life 1.

and how Metro Exodus is evolving from Metro 2033 and Last light and then look at this.

Have you seen the level editor trailer? It's even more awesome. They're packaging it with thousands of assets from Far Cry 5, Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Assassin's Creed IV, Assassin's Creed Unity, Watch Dogs etc. They'll keep adding even more assets later on including assets from Far Cry 5 DLC expansions. They're actually trying really hard to make this into an appealing product. I have no idea what happened with Ubisoft but I'm starting to like it. First they made Assassin's Creed Origins which was pretty fuckin' phenomenal and now this? Though some people would say that Watch Dogs 2 is also one of the better ones, but I wouldn't know.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Looks pretty good, but it will have Uplay and I don't bother with Uplay.

They evolved with Far Cry Primal, but I guess Guns to Physics Guns is more of a bigger impact than Guns to Spears and Bows :p

And yeah I see the irony of my statement but that was not intended.

I was sold at Campaign Co op months ago. REAL campaign co op. Not that "sorry, only side content is co op" garbage. "Yeah, you can play co op, but collectively it's only like 5 hours of content max. But you can replay them!"

Far Cry is a big name, alongside Assassin's Creed, for Ubisoft. I'm happy they want to do something with one of my favorite FPS series to make them fun again.
Now the next large hurdle is the PC port itself. Will it work at launch? Or even near launch? Or am I going to have to wait 8 months for a game to possibly get a patch that will fix some of the issues (i.e. Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Unity)

Wait, what? You freaking serious? Assets from all those games? I don't remember reading that. That's amazing! People are going to make some insane stuff with all that. Might as well be a game engine outright at this point.

Is anyone wondering why they are trying so hard though? Smells a bit like all their vaunted promises of player agency, decent AI, and that it will not just look like they ripped the resistance point system from Red Faction, is pure BS. But hey, look shiny stuff that we are *going* to do later, that will make up for any dropped promises. Wait for the reviews before purchasing.

Stand-alone DLC is lazy due to lack of integration and no effect on the primary game. So unless they are making this secondary content with at least half the main game's duration instead of a few lousy hours, I would shelve them with Blood Dragon as interesting, but not worth a lot.

I think that easier said then done. What do you evolve Farcry 3 into? It already had lots. (In fact, I'd say they need to trim some things but that would be a step backwards now).

Look at the differenece between the first 3. Everyone was doing the same, expanding and making openworlds. Exodus is catching up to a trend from almost a decade ago.
