after the deus ex fiasco where gamestop chose to actively rob thier customers, i decided that was the final straw. until now i have bought the majority of my games from my local EB(canadian company owned by gamestop) and had not really explored other options.
well today i went to my much less conveniently located microplay and found that it didnt even know what if any preorder offers were available with the titles i wanted, rage, dark souls, and arkham city. what is more, apparently the company only gets an incredibly small number of things like collectors editions so i probably cant get anything like a collectors edition from them either.
i really dont want to give my business to gamestop or its proxy companies, and i am not asking for anyone to beat thier price, just match it. so far though, the options seem to suck.
i am very leary of an online retailer simply because i have been robbed by brokerage fees for goods shipped from the usa before and i will simply never do business with a company that tries to charge a brokerage fee again as long as i live. what is more, i actually do want these titles on thier release date, and to the best of my knowledge delivery is pretty hit or miss with these companies.
does anyone have any experience with this that they can share, expecially anyone in canada? if there is absolutely no choice then i guess i will have to continue to give money to gamestop, but if there is any reasonable way to not do so.....
thank-you in advance for your consideration of this matter.
