Am I the only one who likes Vista?

So many of my friends mention that they hate windows vista. I however, think it's great! I've never had problems with it, the security popups (do you really want to run this? etc.) are annoying, but Vista seems so clean, pretty and hey! It's got Directx 10!

Is anyone with me in thinking Vista is cool or am I weirdo?

Welcome to the Escapist. And to answer your question, no you're not. I use it, and I don't have a problem with it. Sure, it's not an OS fit for gaming, but that's not the point.

Vista isn't like Halo, its not just popular to hate it, its hated for good reasons, buggy, memory hogging, Crashing, administrator "Are you sure?" bullshit, They could have done much better, Hopefully 7 is the improvement PC needs.

Vista is not really that much of a improvement on XP.(Unless you call looking like a clown circus improvement.) and neither was DirectX 10 a mindblowing technological advancement.

The only good thing is the ability to use more RAM. The rest is...meh.

I don't like it, it's prettier but its SO ZETTA SLOW.
Also you can't customize the interface as deep as XP

I actually like it, I have used XP and the one before that(forgive me to tired to care about names) I like Vista, every thing looks better aesthetically, I can run more stuff, It's easy to find everything and yeah there are annoyances but they are minute in my opinion and I like it A LOT more than Macs, but that could start debates.

it's not THAT bad, in all honesty, but it has some issues.

First, it's microsoft. People either love it or hate it. Just how it is, it seems.

Second, it's a hulking behemoth of an operating system that just eats resources. It's clunky and cumbersome, but since it's been patched up, it's quite stable, but seems pointed at people who don't know what they're doing.

Frankly, I have more issues with OSuX because alot of Mac users think that because OSuX is better than Windows they have a right to be pretentious. I, of course, am an arrogant Linux advocate ^_^

The name Windows XP makes me laugh because me and my gaming friends use "XP" as an emoticon. (Look at it sideways)

I really find Macs just better in every way, except for the fact that most of the computer games go to Windows. I guess it's just based on what you grow up with for the most part.

I don't hate Microsoft, really. The Xbox 360 is mah faves. But it's annoying, because all of my friends use windows, and a lot of them just try to start arguments over which is better, Mac or Windows. As a matter of fact, on average, more Windows users are pretentious about their OS than Mac users, in my experience.

I am most happy with it. Had a bit of a problem at first with 64-bit, but I just uninstalled it and put 32 on there.

Most people with a clue hate xp (the disguisting O/S that it is) more than vista, it's just among gamers vista is cool too hate, which has a lot to do with microsoft forcing it on us. Most of the complaints with vista are easily solved or fictional.

I do like vista.....just don't like how it eats up ram. I also turned off that popup thing whenever you try and do something to make it not annoying.
