Have you ever done something so amazing that afterwards you thought "Holy shit, did I really do that?!"?

Recently,my brother threw a ball at the back of my head.I turned around and caught it accidently. I gave my brother a dead serious look and said "Don't do that again" but in my head I was thinking "how did I do that?"
This probably isn't the most amazing example but at the time I felt bad-ass.

So tell me escapists, what's the most amazing thing you've ever done?

Earlier this year I was cycling to the station and there was ice, so it was slippery as hell. Turned a corner and did a flawless 360... How in the hell? And why is nobody ever around when I do such things?

Have you ever built an engine by hand, the feeling you get when you crank it up and hear it roar to life really just gives me that I'm awesome feeling.

i joined a SD match on wastelandand my whole team died and it was me vs 5 guys with a minute 30 seconds left and my team had the bomb, so if they waited it out they would have won, a minute and 20 seconds later they were all dead and it was just me stading there like an immortal god

My entire life is one big awesome moment. Nah I jest. What would have to qualify for me is in 7th grade. Some kids were kicking a ball around while I was walking along the wall to the front entrance, one of the assholes aimed it at my head. He missed by about half an inch or less, and the ball smashed into the wall and back at him. What made me feel awesome about it? I didn't stop, nor did I flinch, I just kept walking (I was half asleep at the time, didn't realize what had happened until like 12 steps later).

There was one time I was sitting on a little stage with my friends. Somebody threw a plastic bottle at one of them. I didn't realise it'd happened until my arm shot out and grabbed the bottle, inches away from her face. Then they threw another bottle, this one at me, and I deflected it with my foot into the bin. And threw the first bottle back. Headshot.

That was pretty awesome.

Nice! Awesome!
On topic: Today I climbed up a swing-set (The best ones around here - really tall, and very fun) My friend and I were sitting on top of the set, and he threw his Fanta bottle to me, slightly off-target. I lunged forwards and grabbed it, but overbalanced. I swung around and ended up doing a full forward flip and landed, with the Fanta bottle in my hand. Some kid watching me was all like "WOAH!" Awesome. :D
I'd never try it again though, it felt like I was going to land on my head.

That is the definition of Awesome!

OT:
One time I ate a quarter pounder and 20 chips in 18.67 seconds. That was awesome.

Calumon: I once survived under a PS3 for nearly a week... I thank Jack for helping me.

My squad got pinned down one night coming back into base by some of the Iraqi Security Forces, our supposed "friendly" Iraqis. We knew we couldn't shoot back and they just kept shooting at us. Our problem was a street light that was illuminating us and making us easy targets if we went into the open. After 2 others from my squad shoot off about 10 rounds at the light, I tell my Sergeant that I'm taking a shot. BAM! One shot, lights out, and no one got hurt that night... come to think of it I should have gotten a damn medal for that shit, the alternative was return fire on our allies and that would have been a press nightmare.

Its a sad world that you guys have to worry about press instead of shooting the people trying to kill you. *sigh*

It is sad, but they were technically on our side. Plus they were guarding some bigwig politician of the Anbar Province. I'd have much preferred to have taken a well-aimed shot at their dumbass heads, but I still felt like a badass taking out the light and disappearing into the darkness.

mmm, by your name, your avatar, and the story, I'm guessing you're in the marines.

OT: me and my older brother where fighting. you know how it is, you always get your ass kicked by your older brother, always. well, I had recently started to actually learn how to fight, so when he threw a punch, I put me arm under it, twisted myself around him, put his arm behind his back, held him in a choke hold, and asked him if he would give up yet. he said yes.

On a slow Sunday morning in the shop I work at, a coworker (Antony) and I were tossing a ball of string around trying to get it into a basket from really stupid places. Ant threw the string towards me and instead of catching it I spun around and the ball bounced off my arse, went straight over the counter and fell directly into the basket.

It was fucking awesoooooooommmme.

And then Ant and I tied the shop up with the string in celebration.

I was hiking with a friend down a very steep and rocky slope. And I heard running footsteps from behind me, and instinctively, I shoved my friend aside just a split second before some guy charged through the exact spot my friend had been standing. The guy running down the slope was actually "falling", as he tripped or something, but since it was a slope, he just kept on running and eventually stopped himself by grabbing on to a tree. Had he collided with either of us though, we would have tumbled down the extremely sleep slope and sustained serious injuries.
The amazing thing was how I knew that I wasn't going to get hit, or how I knew that my friend was the one in his path since I didn't look back once. I just pushed my friend aside and didn't flinch as the guy ran by at full speed. I could have stepped aside as well but I didn't. *shrugs* I guess I was just being an extremely lucky idiot. My friend found it amusing that I shoved him into the dirt just to save him.
