An important note about pirate copies of the Garwulf's Corner collection

Hi all!

I hate to have to bring this up, but this is where my readership is, and so this is where people might end up being affected. I just had to do a couple of DMCA strikes on some Google searches for An Odyssey into Video Games and Pop Culture - some websites were offering free copies, a full month before the October 15th release date.

Now, here's the thing - I OWN the publishing company that's publishing this collection. So, I know pretty much exactly where every single electronic copy is, and NONE of them are in general circulation. So, while it is possible that somebody managed to hack the Ingram or Amazon Kindle servers, it's a LOT more likely that somebody is trying to pass off malware as a pirate copy of the Garwulf's Corner collection.

(And, I've seen this before with other books. In at least one case, I saw somebody offering e-book copies of a book where the e-book files hadn't even been generated yet.)

So, please don't be fooled - I rather like my readers, and I would prefer that they not get hit by malware. If you want the book (and I rather hope that lots of people do), it is available for pre-order in both paperback and Kindle formats, and there may even be another way to get it in a couple of weeks with implications that I think (hope) a lot of people will like.

But, perhaps I've said too much...
