I know, Skyrim has been done to death and back, but this article written by someone at IGN.

I agree with a lot of what he said, mostly because there were things in Skyrim I was promised that were never delivered. Bethesda did promise that if "you killed someone's brother, they would generate a quest where that brother would come after you". Maybe I didn't play enough, but that never happened.
Also, I agree, Dark Souls' combat was far superior. Had the game incorporated that style combat, it would have been far better in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is a good game, but it's not great. I can more easily kill a dragon than a cave bear and that is upsetting. I should be terrified of the large scaley creatures, but instead find myself chasing after them for an easy bit of XP.

Go take a look for yourself. Remember, these are opinions.

Not quite an "interesting opinion" seeing as how much of the criticisms levied have been stated numerous times before by multiple people. Just another person who doesn't like Skyrim. I'm not here to defend Skyrim though. I enjoyed the game but to be quite honest I haven't played it since mid-Decemeber. Does it have it's faults? Of course. No game that large can be expected to be perfect, especially since it was made by Bethesda. But all in all, having played it on the 360 and thus didn't have to deal with all the MAJOR mechanical problems that plagued the PS3 and PC versions, I gotta say I got what I expected out of the game: another fun adventure in the world of The Elder Scrolls.

However, as I mentioned, that doesn't make me deaf to criticism about the game, though I personally thought the combat in Dark Souls was actrocious and that it was the game's mechanics that made the game so ridiculously hard, not the game itself. Of course you're going to die over and over again when the game seems specifically built to kill you with sluggish combat movements due to a subtle lag to the attack controls.

:p Of course that's just my opinion on Dark Souls. Not trying to pick a fight here.

If you pissed someone off, you DID get thugs coming after you to beat you up, or even a DB assassin.

However, you also got that response for picking up a sweetroll.
