Accurate enough I guess. Better than "Arc"? Not so sure. Thoughts?

The Playstation Move?

That's not intruiging at all, it sounds like some dull game meant to use the Playstation eye for some generic Minigames.

Keep trying Sony, keep trying.

With a name like that are you sure this isnt sony's way of trying to break into the "Voice Activated Roamer" market?

As I said in the news post, the name "PS3mote" looks better and better everyday.

PS3mote: Totally original.

I'm more confused by the ball thing on the end of the right hand remote, looks like it's some kind of baloon pump...

I don't mind the name "Move". I like it better than "Arc" or "Gem" because at least "Move" makes some sense, even if it's not the most imaginitive name in the world.

How 'bout, "Move bcith, get out the way"?

Having said that, as far as poking fun at motion control systems names, the "wii" when it was first announced probably still takes the cake.

Did you read my or ryuje2009's posts?
I didn't say it was the best name they could've come up with, it's just better than the others they've had. When its used alone, as in the "Move", it makes more sense since it relates to what it does and what it is, instead of some random name.

Anyway, it's "Playstation Move", not "Playstation, Move" :p. It's really just how you want to take it.

And hey, they could've called it "Playstation Waggle".

What's the Japanese word for "move"?

I ask because as a long-time Anime fan I know that some of the most ridiculous sounding things come up because of a literal translation from Japanese where it doesn't sound quite
so silly, and apparently the way the language works is funementally differant structure wise which matters as well.

That said I'm not a huge fan of "motion controllers" to begin with as I've said before, so really I'm not all that excited.

Not to mention the fact that this product is being pitched for "only $100", which is not exactly cheap. Making this yet another overpriced Sony product, and really if anything is going to help kill it, it's that. $100 for a gimmick that may or may not catch on? Not to mention the fact that they are releasing this come spring time, yet I can't remember hearing about any games involving it that are going to be released at the same time. Paying $100 for something you hope will be supported is quite a lot, and even if they come up with a couple of titles, again paying $100 for a device to play a couple of games isn't really all that much more attractive.

This will sound ridiculous, but I'd think that if they REALLY want this to catch on they would be giving it away for free, or really, really cheap and hoping that if they got enough of a base out there they could make it up selling the games that this would allow them to develop.

Like the whole "PSP Go" thing, and "Playstation Home" I frequently can't help but wonder what Sony is thinking.

This is the worst name for the worst device ever. Then again I hate motion controls but how are you going to actually ask for this controller?

Guy 1:Hand me that controller.
Guy 2:What controller?
Guy 1: Move
Guy 2: ...Huh?
Guy 1 The playstation move! The wiiremote rip off hand me that
Guy 2: Oh! why didn't you say so!

Same goes for the (Y) button being the worst button ever.

Guy: How do I reload?
Guy2: Y
Guy: Because I need to reload!
Guy2: It's Y dumbass
Guy: ..Oh.

That one actually happened anyway.

Well, it could be worse... it could be called the wii... Well at least its not named after an adjective for birth... I think motion controls universally have stupid names. (Wiimote is seriously an uncreative name).

As for the design... Is that two wiimotes with a balloon on one?

1. According to a translator, these words work for "move": "ayumikata, dekata, deyou". I'm sure there's differences regarding context.

2. What Sony is thinking, is we can profit off stupid fans that will buy anything we make!

The biggest problem is that although people said they'd make games with motion control:
How many of them are going to be good enough that they'd sell, that it would actually warrant buying this controller?
