For a while now i've been looking for games for my android with depth and complexity that goes beyond your average angry birds "swipe it" and doodle jump "tilt it".For example, games like Frozen Synapse or Civilization or Legend of Grimrock that require little to no reflexes.Of course i am not talking about direct pc to android ports, but something along the lines of those games.Something with a leveling system, or some other kind of progression based gameplay. What i'm looking for is a turn-based(or not) rpg or strategy, maybe some kind of tycoon that does not require constant internet connection and is without that facebook thing where you have to wait for like five weeks till your resources fill up again.(I've seen a lot of those). So help me, oh wise and mighty Escapist, for i am so tired of replaying Cut the Rope and Battleheart.

If you've got a relatively powerful phone (read: not a budget model like mine), there's a port of FreeCiv, an open source remake of the first two Civ games. It's not on any of the stores, but you can find the necessary APK files (plus some information about it) here. There's also a pretty good port of Nethack available through the google play store, which will run on anything. There's also the games made by the Treese brothers, all of which fit the bill, but feel like a pale imitation of the games they're based on. Other than that, there's really not much in the way of turn based games for the platform. I wound up getting some emulators and loading them up with JRPGs, SRPGs, and strategy games.

you can now get open ttd for android. This is an open source version of transport tycoon deluxe, is quite in depth and a lot of fun. I recommend it
