It always tends to be the massive emotional highs that make a work memorable. So what made you cry, in anger, sadness, joy, bitterness etc?

Anime: One Piece - Ace's death (that hurt like crazy...) No other anime could compare, after Luffy struggled through Impel Down itself and through all Marineford, his efforts were in vain...

Anime: Dragonball GT - Goku leaves for the final time. End of a legacy = tears of sadness

Manga: Naruto - Naruto goes to Gaara in his loneliness, and all of the Sand Village surrounds them. One of the happiest scenes in any manga, ever, full stop.

Manga: One Piece - Luffy forgives Nico Robin (was better in the manga than the anime)

Manga: Elfen Lied - Pretty much every second page.

Movie: Toy Story 3 - The Incinerator Scene. Wow. How can an animated film possibly make me and every other grown man in the cinema cry like babies? A scene of love and friendship in the face of certain doom.

Movie: Dinner for Schmucks - Crying with frustration throughout the whole film. Made me realise just how good Steve Carell is at acting!

Game: FFVII - Aeris' death. Award for maybe the most obvious, but it was (and still is) totally shocking.

Game: Star Wars Republic Commando - CRYING WITH FRUSTRATION FOR A DAMN SEQUEL!

There are so few that I could actually list all of them.
The fact that I could simply post a picture of the scene and you remember it (assuming you've seen it) is a testament to the cinematography.

I was such a fucking idiot when I was 13.

Kong dying in Peter Jackson's King Kong made me tear up. That right there cemented my opinion that Peter Jackson is the greatest director ever, he made me cry over a giant monkey.

Tora Dora: cried many times, mainly during moment's where Taiga actually broke down and exposed herself completely. Mainly because I identify with the character far too much.

The Girl Who Leaped Through Time: just seeing the growing frustrations and tension and Makoto realises she can't fix anything.

Mentioning the elfin lied manga or anime is just too obvious, though it is easily my number one answer /emolucylove.

That being said, the final scene in the chrno crusade anime effed me up somewhat. If for no other reason than the rest of the anime wasn't really what I would call sad, but it just ramps way the hell up in the last few episodes. I was not prepared.

Edit: Its not actually the very very final scene, but anyone who has ever seen the last episode knows the part i'm talking about.

I can't remember any movies that did that to me. And I have quite a bit of a list of games that did (though perhaps none so hard as <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.135672-Neutral-Drow-reviews-A-Drug-That-Makes-You-Dream>these <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.163769-Neutral-Drow-reviews-Kanon>two.

Well...there were a few scenes that did. None more than when I arrived at the school rooftop at night, just in time to keep Aeka from jumping off. And then trying to convince her not to try it again. Actually, that wasn't just tears of sadness, but tears of desperation, fear, anger, and relief.

Only Mizuki's Happy Ending came close to that. There aren't very many instances where I've felt proud of a game character, but Kouhei seriously passed my expectations in that.

Basically every ending, plus some revelations in the middle.

Makoto's ending worst of all. I actually cried myself to sleep (the night after I got the ending) over that.

As for anime...there've been a few. That's all I'll say.

Manga...a couple of times during Chibi Vampire (including the ending), once or twice during Ai Yori Aoshi, several times during Fruits Basket...and many more.

Yeah, I'm kind of a softie.

In Spore, the scene where you are released into space only to find its as artistically worthless and devoid of purpose as the rest of the game and indeed your life. That moment where the weight of all those years of waiting finally crashes down upon you and reminds you of everything that is wrong with the world and yourself. Where such sorrow takes you that you spend the entire evening consumed with unbearable anger and every ounce of optimism is drained from your body until naught but bitter loathing for your own species remains. That scene made me cry. Everything else from now on is much easier to deal with, now that my soal is dead. Fuck EA and Maxis for tricking me. Next time my ideological heaven is portrayed in a trailer I will know better than to become passionate about it, or anything. I hope theists are right so Will Wright can burn in the deepest chasms of hell.

Anime - The ending of Jin-Roh: Wolf Brigade hit pretty hard (for me anyway)
Manga - Mimura's death in Battle Royal :(
Movie - The ending of Armageddon...When I was 8 and didn't know any better ;)
Game - Fate/Stay Night (does that count as a game): The ending of the fate route, also Saber's turn in UBW (haven't finished it but her capture was sad enough considering)

I was kinda like that too with that scene.

For me, the only sure-fire way to make me misty is to play a particular song. I've never really cried when it came to video games (because they're interactive, which means I can't exactly let loose and relax), but I imagine the closest I've ever come was from the end of Bioshock. Mostly because that game (for me, anyway) is hella intense.

But I have a few in movies. Usually, though, they have to be accompanied with the right music in order to make me start tearing up. For example:

Up: Married Life [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93jxkqG0gWc]

The Fountain: The ending/credits [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZW4PCaxGS8]

Crazy Heart: The Weary Kind [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Jf2mcSplw]

Spoilers about Shadow of the Collossus. *because I don't know how to do that clicky thing...*

First thing that came to my mind was when Agro fell from the bridge/cliff, plus the whole ending to the game that seemed so peaceful, yet haunting. I don't think I cried, but I water eyed for sure.
