Anime you can't get into

Maybe it was just something you saw at the library, or you bought, or your friend let you borrow. But you just couldn't get into it at all, no matter how hard you try, so what is yours?

I'm going to say for me, most Shonen Jump series (except for some of their "Advanced" series, such as Black Cat and Death Note), I couldn't get into One Piece, but that might have just been only cause I was introduced to just the first few chapters, and the awful 4kids dub...and since then, I have moved on to Seinen manga/anime, so ya...

Basically every pure relationship anime manga... its kinda like a soap opera animated with cheesy japenese jokes.

And if your looking for a christmas gift for your loved one try love rub... because you both have been good this year ;]. I just saw that commerical on tv and had to.

I can't stand most of the popular ones like Naruto, Death Note, Fruits Basket, One Piece...the list goes on.

my sister was watching one of those girly animes. I was confused because normally she just watches Naruto or Bleach.
So I asked her what this was about and she said,
"Well this is about a girl who is in love with this guy, but she hates the guy because he beat her in a science contest."

Trying to be the rational person I am,

I responded, "So she likes him because he is really good at science."

thinking that because she is good at science and that he is good at science they have something in common, but she's upset because he is better than her.

My sister: "No, she likes him because he's her best friend's boyfriend and he kissed her in a library."
Me: "That is in no way a realistic or ideal relationship. that is called a red-flag. you know that, right?"
My sister: "Yeah, of course."
Me: "So why do you watch something that doesn't make any sense?"
My sister: "Because I'm a girl, and girls like stupid stuff like this."


yes, she reads twilight. She's told me about the stupid and pointless story and about how Twilight vampires are not like regular vampires and so on and so forth, but she still loves Twilight.

There've been a few, of course. Off the top of my head: Death Note, Kujibiki Unbalance, I's, Negima?!, Comic Party, and Tattoon Master. I kinda want to look up World of Narue again, but I haven't been able to draw enough motivation.

Try Macross. The robots are similar, but the men are all manly-looking.

I can't get into a lot of them for some reason. Maybe because they take themselves too seriously, they've been going on for ages, and a laundry list of other reasons. Bleach is one of those examples, as is One Piece. I just can't get into 'em for some reason. I can't get into the ones that are purely based on romance alone, or something like the one orangeapples mentioned. Can't really get into Shounen or Bishounen, cause they kinda creep me out for some reason.

Edit: And the Ecchi, oh, the Ecchi. The sci-fi, maybe. Anything involving mechas is a bit of a turn off for me 'cause they all appear similar.

Just about every mainstream one. And ones that have the same copy and pasted ideas just reworded a bit and with different colored hair. There are only a few Anime/Manga i acctually like because they have a bit of originality.

I've noticed I like Anime where the main character a genius who outsmarts almost everyone.

Did you stop watching television after stumbling onto King of Queens? Or stop reading books because Eragon sucked? Or listening to music because William Hung can't sing?
