So I'm playing Digimon World 2 through again, and I'm starting to get seriously frustrated that mixing anything that's a data Digimon with any of the others is resulting in Floramon every goddamn time.

Anyone else having things in games that really tick you off? Discuss!

Endless tutorials and repetition of dialogue.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a truly awful example of how these things ruin an otherwise fun/intriging game, as your constantly halted from what you were doing to be told how to do it or you need to do the thing you were already doing before they spouted 50 lines about an otherwise simply thing. If characters didn't say to you "Better hurry up before it explodes" eight times before actually letting you get on with anything the game would only be about 2 hours long at most.

The other thing that grinds my gears is multiple systems to perform the same action, like the KoA demo the way dialogue works is hugely inconsistant and also suffers the above repetitiveness as everyone has something to say on every topic. Other systems in game seem to use multiple ways to go about it too leaving it no easier for you to do anything. It just feels so frivolous and wasteful. Know it's a demo and might be different in the full version but it's a recent example I could think of that other games are guilty of.

Skyrim, not a single element of that game that didn't annoy me or worked in unison with everything.

Not a big fan of randomness either, it more frequently then not works against you. 90% chance of success....500 tries later it works for the first time.

Not a in game thing but I dislike the ideas in development that something that worked and is frequently used is cliche, the new way usual is just a bad immitation or just plain bad. Sometimes wish systems, animation etc was more shared so rather then companies making thier own version of something that worked they spent more time making it better, I know ultimately it wouldn't work like that or work due to needing to be paid etc but still...

*looks above* sometimes I wonder why I play games at all, I'm so irritable.

In some games, for some reason prevalent in some japenese games (Metal gear solid, lost planet, monster hunter and to an extent resident evil.) Seem to be obsessed with animation. Now most of the time this is cool, but not with animations that happen when your character gets "injured".

You know, the "flinch", or getting knocked over.

Now again this is fine, getting hit with an axe or a huge monster would hurt and probably lay you out. But it ruined lost planet 2 for me, EVERY BULLET got my character "locked" in a flinching animation, stopping me from playing the game and leading me to get injured again. This happens in metal gear and resi also.

Same thing with monster hunter, my guy gets knocked down, and by the time he gets up the enemy is already swinging its tail down to hit me again.

Its cool that they go into so much detail, but not when it stops me from playing the game and leads to cheap deaths :/

Moogle ( from ffXII-2 ), Na'vi and that other fairy Link has ( forget her name at the moment ).

Basically side characters that point out the obvious for you.

Tell me about it, Monster hunter is the biggest culprit for this. too many times has a vespoid attacked me at the exact time a rathalos is swinging it's tail and #i'm trying to run away. Dear god that got frustrating fast.

Back to my earlier post, I'm supposed to get a tankmon from a domain, and there are always more return bug nests than I have retbug zappers.....leading to a lot of autopiloting out before I can get a tankmon because the damn bug is sending all my digimon back. I'm now entering the domain for the 6th time and haven't got beyond the 3rd floor because of these bloody things -_-

Subtitles being even slightly wrong. Crysis 2 for example GOULD NEVER SAYS "MAN" Y U INSIST HE DOES.

God it's like they took an unedited version of the script and just shoved it in there and didn't bother to update it with the edits. It even says "beat" like in an actual script, no other game does that!

As a great man once said "the subtitles in this game are a great big steaming pile of fail."

And lock-ons that get you killed. I suppose my Dark Souls character got a bit suicidal after knocking a (still living and locked on) monster off a cliff, he then decided it would be a jolly good idea to hop on down after it. I know it's a cruel world mate but killing yourself doesn't work! Bonfires remember!
