*sigh*

I'm rather frustrated right now sooooo I might just have a good old "hate thread"

this is a list of things people say which really really annoy me...see if you agree..or write your own! or whatever!

[b/]1-"I play games for fun!"[/b]

[i/]I don't see why games thease days are so serious and grity..I play games for fun![/i]

this statement usually comes after someone talks about some element they don't like in games like being "gritty/serious/story focused/arty"

so you play games for fun?...well fuck me! that's a new one!....I play games as a form of self punishment...you know I make things as unbearable as possible...hell sometimes I give myself electric shocks every-time I die! just to make it interesting

I mean what are we actually saying here? when I play a game that's all frivolous and silly like saints row I'm having fun...but a game that attempts to tell a story or something serious like Deus Ex I'm.......not?

what the fuck?

no,see its just a stupid thing people say when scoff at the Idea of games trying to be all"serious" or story driven....fun is not the same for everyone..I would have more fun playing a "serious" game than a silly one, its just assuming that your tastes or Idea of fun are universal

[b/]2. people only didn't like it because [insert retarded reason][/b]

[i/]people only didn't like Metroid Other M because samus taliked and people don't like change.[/i]

this is a common one people pull when reacting to the fact that somthing they like has been torn apart...or for other similar situations

you know what? thare reasons that people hate Other M, Starwars Prequels, ME3's ending, the New Dante ect...you don;t have to agree but the least you could do is find it out rather than making shit up

3. [b/] should games?[/b]

[i/]should games be story driven/purely gameplay/have good graphics/deal with issues/have sec in them/have voice acting/have realistic graphics/have styleised graphics/be art[/i]

you know what? [b/]games[/b] as a collective whole [b/]should not be anything[/b] its entirly up to whatever the creators want for their game..if they want somthing that resemables a visual novel more than a game or if they want somhthing thats pure gameplay...

and if they want to make a photorealistic shooty game thats plot heavy and brown well thats all good and well

my point is it just feels like putting some blanket term to apply to all games....yes ok this one is more of a personal pet peeve than anything else I admit, since its mostly just wording

[b/]4. yeah..well men get objectified just as bad[/b]

*sigh*...I'm sorry..I really am

but no....they don't..and no...its not the same

Kratos running around shirtless is not the same as Catwomen running around with her zipper down to her navel...man and woman sexuality is different...

its not just the amount of skin showing..for males its about power..for females its "look her tits"

weather or not catwomen is "powerful/empowered" is an entirely different thing..but my actual point is "Kratos and Catwomen" are not interchangeable as sex objects

and the fact is in real life women will always be judged on their looks first and foremost..more so than men

thats all I can think of for now

"It is what it is."

I'm sorry, how about you say something that actually means something instead of a silly cop-out answer.

"You don't have it!? But it's in your catalogue!"

Yeah, it might be in the catalogue but it's not in the shop, and it ain't gonna fucking materialise no matter how mad you get.

Either you live in a land with sexy men everywhere, or you see what you want to see .

OT:"Don't lower yourself to their level, be mature "

A friend told me this after i learned that an old lady at work was making rumors about me just for the sake of it . Now i usually ignore people that annoy me , but this woman is going around telling people things about me that isn't true just so she can have something interesting to talk about at work . Aiight *****, bring it on ! Two can play at that game. While i don't really care what people say about me, i DO want to teach this woman a lesson . INCOMING PAIN AND MISERY !

I agree with you so much on that first point. How I think of it, though, is that people have a far too narrow definition of what "fun" is. Fun should just mean something enjoyable. It doesn't mean that it has to be care-free and happy. Saints Row is fun, and so is Spec Ops: The Line (or I hear it is, I've not played it). We shouldn't exclude different types of fun just because most games previously have only been about one type. Venturing outside that one type does not automatically make a game bad, and whether you think games are "supposed" to be a certain type is irrelevant. And what one person finds fun another may not. I, for example, do not find Mass Effect fun. Other people do, and that's fine. They can have at it.

Juicy. I have never met a person who regularly uses the word juicy that isn't annoying. Double annoying points if they use it when talking about an interesting piece of information.

Hmm can't believe you went and opened the damn sexist bullshit can of worms again. Thought those threads had run their course already.

OT: Very specific one from LoL.

"OMG STOP FEEDING"

Oh now that you've said that to our 0/4 bottom lane i'm sure they'll snap right out of their losing streak and pick up their game instantly! How could they have been so stupid?! We just need to stop feeding! Brilliant idea!

Anyway, being fed is overrated. For most Champions anyway. A fed Olaf, Jax or Xin is a lost game pretty much. Olaf and Jax have methods to avoid damage (think that's what Jax's spin thing does) or just not care (Olaf with life steal and can't touch this ult) and Xin is just Xin.

Whenever I get fed with my Irelia it just makes my job a bit easier. AKA diving into the enemy team, kill their carries then get out.

True Damage too stronk.

"At the end of the day."

What. Does. That. Mean. What does it mean? Someone please, tell me what the hell that means.

"They should lock him up and throw away the key"

And for bonus points, the person needs to be making an argument that mentally ill people should not receive any medical care. It pisses me off so much that this is socially acceptable

Are you old enough?/Are you 18?/Are you over 16? for small things, such as shopping. I got ID'd the other day in a Pub for buying a Coke, I got ID'd for online shopping by the person who delivered it (My Groceries, nothing bad!) Common sense.

We've just got much different opinions. well Yes! Of course we have, otherwise we'd all be clones.

IMHO. *Edit: I know the 'h' is for humble thanks.

Also, noob, fag, gay, butthurt, white knight, leet. There are more but that short list alone started making me cringe.

anything involving the exclamation that something was 'epic' in some way. like, 'that was epic' or 'epic fail'. this fad has kinda gone away now a days, which im glad, cause people always misuse the word epic. if some guy falls off his skateboard its an EPIC FAIL. or if someone hit their head on a low hanging pipe, EPIC FAIL.

bullshit, those things arent epic in anyway, nor were there any attempts to do something epic. epic is being so good at swimming that you can swim up a waterfall. or being so good and diplomacy you persuade a psycho killer who is about to light up a classroom to put the gun down, find jesus, and become president of the US (and he does!). epic is when you're so good at using a sniper rifle that you can make and accurate shot from 3 cities away (i.e. like the dude from Wanted).

Well, in the general spectrum of things...

'Cheer Up, it might never happen!' Uh, yeah, and what if that thing, whatever it might be, not happening is the reason i might be so down/annoyed/angry? Also, keep the fuck out of my business.

'Hows it going?/You alright?' used as a greeting. Actually, y'know what, now that you mention it, I'm not alright. I have a long list of problems that I could go into in great detail... oh wait, you dont care do you? What the hell is wrong with just saying 'hello' or 'hi'?

Anyone who describes themselves as 'bubbly'. Because that just means 'fat', right?

Plumbing the depths here, but I've been on a few dating sites in my time - with little successing, you'll be entirely unsurprised to hear - and it annoys me when people say 'I enjoy nights in and nights out' What other fucking options are there?

*Sigh* I need to spend less time on the internet.

This too.

It's one of the waaaaaay overused phrases that need to stop being said out loud.
