The guy shows damn near no evidence, is fear mongering the highest degree, and is ignoring facts/history.
Omg guys look at these companies who had links to distributing file sharing software, it is their fault that piracy exist...I'm sorry but am I the only one who see this as a completely stupid argument? I used a getaway car during my bank robbery, sue the car companies because they advertised their cars as being super fast and helped encourage me to use it as a getaway vehicle because of how fast it was.
Seriously file sharing software was created and distributed back in the day when people were using freaking dial up. Sharing any kind of file via a server/database was insanely expensive and difficult. Thus the push to do peer to peer exchange, it was cheaper and easier to use.
Then came the advent of broadband and piracy boomed because now all of a sudden you can actually distribute huge files like games/movies/whatever.
It is really sad that people are heaving up this video like it is jesus christ come down and spreading the divine word. Seriously there are tons of well spoken/well informed/credible people out there who have been fighting sopa for quite a while; makes you wonder why those credible people haven't mentioned anything like this before....might be because they know its a load of crap that is based on claims that stretch the truth.
Makes me wonder if the reason why the guy has the biggest shit eating grin in throughout the whole thing is because this guy knows he is full of it.
