Another Xbone mis-step?

The official Xbox YouTube channel has posted a game play video of Watch Dogs; running on a PS4.

Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRMqE9yPDpc, and you can just see the button icons flash up at 1:37

Someone posted a screengrab of the offending moment ( http://i.imgur.com/uOQt3wC.png ) as it looks like Xbox tried to blank out the on-screen button icons for most of the video, but missed a frame or two.

That is pretty funny if true, I wonder if the Xbone is actually working at the moment? Have they even showed one working yet? Microsoft did send the project back to the tech guys to get some more oomph out of it after the details in the PS4 reveal, I wonder if its still being fiddled with.

Is this actually a misstep?
Watch Dogs isn't a (timed) exclusive and that video isn't exclusive to MS either. They did not claim anywhere it was running on Xbone. It's coming out on 6 consoles, just because it's running on a PS3/4 doesn't really say anything about the other platforms. MS just shared a promotional video because the game is coming out on two of their consoles. I imagine that the controls were blacked out/missed by Ubisoft rather than MS since there's videos published earlier than that one by non-MS folk that have the same thing.

This thread comes off as trying too hard to hate MS. Surely it's easy enough to hate them with all the legitimately stupid shit they've done.

Same as above, I found Ubisoft's official release of the video, and the button cues are indeed left out. This probably means that since it is a multiplatform title, for whatever reason they didn't feel necessary to include which version it was. Ironically, it might have been to avoid favoritism or apearing support one side or the other. I don't think that such a decision really have anything to do with Microsoft, because for one thing if they were trying to avoid suspicion, doing this was bound to just bring it up sooner or later. I'm sure there were no sinister purposes at work here.

You're right. I just went back and found the original video on the Watch Dogs channel, and the same few frames are badly un-obscured there too. So it looks like it's a generic marketing trailer from Ubisoft.

The point wasn't to hate on MS, I just find it ridiculous that a company that's made so many seemingly stupid errors recently would post this video without going over it with a fine-tooth comb.

Whats more intresting for me is that the Watch Dogs gameplay demo was done with a PS4 rather than an Xbone, with the previous generation many games were made with the 360 being the main platform with everyone else getting ports off that platform.

The shift from one console to another being the primary dev unit (especially with the PS4 running OpenGL) could mean many next gen games having an easy time porting to Linux and Mac.

That lady has a pleasant voice~

Also, not really a misstep, as others have said. It is multiplatform. Sure, it is a bit cheaty if the graphics don't match. But they are supposed to be the same all over now, no?
