Has anyone noticed that as his videos get newer, he gets louder and louder? If you compare his Duke Nukem video to his Heavenly Swords video, he's practically whipsering.

maybe because he now has a reputation for ripping games apart with his sarcasm, he's trying to live up to it?
although ive never known him to do anything for the fans XD

Maybe eventually his reviews will be nothing but a shouted blur of sarcasm and tit/gay jokes

I think he's just developing his style over time. Look at any comic book; it changes over the issues. Same thing.

I don't doubt that he got a new microphone, or adjusted the settings of it. While it's always possible that his style has shifted a bit over time, check out the Halo Wars review and note the difference in volume between the two reviewers.

Only thing I've noticed when comparing the Heavenly sword review to later ones, is that he speaks faster in the later ones.

yup

that's almost definitely it. It is true that his tone and speed have changed.. he's also a lot faster now too.. But it's just because he's more comfortable doing it. It's the same with everything.. look at the AVGN's new stuff vs his old stuff, or the Nostalgia Critic, or anyone else that does anything..

He's just getting better at what he's doing.. and being better in this context includes being louder :p

He's realizing the futility of the games industry and/or the content of what he's reviewing.

Think about it. In his early days he could review whatever he damn well pleased. Now he's feeling the sting of the "GRAAR MUST SHOOT EVERYTHING" wave of crappy FPSes. That and he hates JRPG's.

I always thought it was annoying how loud the intro music was in contrast to his speaking voice and I had to turn my speakers down during the intro then up when he started talking and I always missed the first few words. :(
So this is a definite improvement!

Yeah, I noticed that too, he sounds a lot more aggressive and snooty.
When directly comparing them, I prefer the older tone of voice.
But by itself, I don't mind the new approach.

Hey, here's a bold idea, why don't you just...y'know, ASK him if he's gotten better equipment as his videos have been released.
