FFVII Crisis Core for the PSP is probobly going cheap at the mo... I thought it was OK, but some people seem to REALLY enjoy it, maybe you will too.
FFIX is currently on sale in the PSN store too (at least it is here). Sorry if you don't like JRPGs btw.

Actually, I'd reccomend just going on the PSN store and look around, you might find something that catches your eye.

I got my xbox sometime last year so i missed all the launch titles really><. Any specific ones?

The Darkness

You stole my choice!

The Darkness is a game I never stop recommending. It's a FPS adaptation of a comic book. You play as a member of a crime family and you are betrayed, but gain daemonic powers. I don't want to spoil the story by telling you more.

In the spirit of full disclosure there are some problems with it. It has free roaming elements that really shouldn't be there as they cause more trouble than good. There is no mini-map and it isn't always obvious exactly where to go or what to do some times and you can end up lost. The Online play isn't too great (and I'd assume the servers would be dead by now).

These complaints are nothing compared to the strengths of the game. I say this without any doubt The Darkness has THE BEST story and storytelling in any game I have ever played. There are scenes where it should win a videogame Oscar. Let yourself be pulled in and you shall travel on an emotional roller-coaster.

I don't want to ramble on, but I must mention the incredible details put into this game. You can pick up little scraps of paper with phone numbers on them which act as collectables. Go to a payphone and call the number to unlock artwork, comic pages, etc. You also hear a little answering machine message for each one that are funny, touching, or just bizarre. Throughout the levels there are also TV sets which show music videos, cartoons, and even full movies! Not wanting to ruin the story, but there is a part when you meet up at your girlfriend's house and you can just cuddle up with her and watch "To Kill a Mockingbird".

You can find it really cheap and even if you hate the story (if you come from some bizarre soulless land) you can enjoy the brutal action and great visuals.

Oh and Yahtzee and Unskipable have done videos about it. Yahtzee only reviewed the demo though which cuts out a part of the story so it makes no sense. His complaints about getting stuck are an example of one of the game's weaknesses.

Psychonauts is last gen, BUT IT'S JUST SO DAM GOOD!

The orange box for PC has ridiculously good value and I think is being sold for about that price on steam, it's 5 great games for the price of one, I consider one of the best purchases I have made in gaming.

I kept the demo installed on my PS3 long after I bought the game purely because when you moved over in on the XMB that music played.
