I found the Doors through the collaboration they did with Skrillex, but I do like them.

For the curious,

Hell. Frickin'. Yes.

Hello, person quoting me! A pleasure to make your acquaintance.[/youtube]

Does anyone dare say that that is anything less than awesome? 'Cause if so, we may have to take this outside. Where outside is in this context, I have no idea. The Escapist main page maybe?

Quick story. First time I heard the Doors, I was in a History of rock and roll college class (my one "fun" class). Mainly the class was book learning and slide shows. When we got to the Doors my teacher decided to play one of their songs with a crazy lights music player/screen saver thingy to try to represent this water color on a projector thing they had back then. Just so happened that was the one day I took shrooms that year. Blew my mind so hard, it took me like 5 minutes to come back to earth.

Doors is one of my favorite bands.

I loooove the first and last albums and select songs from the rest. Great band. I used to listen to them religiously when I was younger to a point where I couldn't stand them anymore and it took me quite some time to enjoy them again. Too much of a good thing.

What the hell is that Skrillex thing up there though? My ears are threatening to sue...

I'm a fan of the Doors. I've been humming "People are Strange" to myself for the past few days, actually.

(With intermittent breaks).

I love The Doors. Jim Morrison, y u had such a sexy voice?
Not as sexy as Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees.

I think all you Doors fans might appreciate his solo and Screaming Trees backlog. I always got a Morrisony vibe from his voice.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

OT: Not really listened to The Doors much, so I can't say that I am a fan.

Yeah I've heard them all my life. Not a huge fan, but I like them for sure. Their music is really nostalgic for me for some reason.

I got introduced to Jim Morrison through Danzig albums.

Full circle, and all that.

But yeah, good stuff all around.

I don't "like" The Doors, I LOVE them. My dad kepy playing Morrison Hotel and other albums when I was kid so all the tracks are embedded in memory and carry the sweet odor of fun & innocence.

Way to hijack the topic, but since it's Lanegan...
Can't say I ever really got into the Screaming Trees but his solo stuff is absolutely fantastic. Field Songs and Bubblegum are among my absolute favorite records ever. And his acoustic show in Cologne still gives me chills whenever I think about it. And Queens Of The Stone Age 2002 in Brussels... Lanegan singing Auto Pilot is sooo much better.

Hell yes I'm a fan of The Doors.

Can't remember exactly when I got into them, though I think it involved hearing a particularly awful cover of Light My Fire then hearing the original and then a trip to buy some Doors albums.

I'm a huge fan of the Doors, my dad used to always play their first album when I was a child so that's the one I'm most familiar with. Although my favorite album may be LA Woman.

Coincidentally Jim Morrison shares the same birthday as my roommate.

While I know who they are, I don't listen to them particularly often. They make nice music though.
