Pretty simple question... I mean we all have older cartoons that we enjoy either because of nostalgia or because we still genuinely find them good. But what about today's cartoons? While there certainly are bad ones out there(and there were bad ones in our past too), there are some that really seem to have at least some good qualities.

For my example I'm going to use one that is REALLY new (I.E. It's hardly even 5 episodes in).

Disney Channel's Gravity Falls

A friend got me into this show and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. To give a good summary of why I enjoy it is that it really seems to have a had a good effort put into it. Sure it is at it's heart a goofy kid's show... But in a lot of it I can tell that the creators didn't cut corners. The backgrounds are lovely, the animation is pretty good quality, and it seems to hold up well in it's writing too. I confess that I also enjoy it because it plays with a concept that I love: Crazy and unusual things occurring just beyond the scope of what we're seeing.

(And~ Kristen Schaal does some very good voice work as Mabel.)

So what about you my fellow escapists? Got any cartoons that are going on today that you're enjoying?

Inb4 ponies.

Nothing new, really.

Because I'm old and bitter and nothing will ever live up to my childhood memories.

Legend of Korra is amazing and I can't wait to see more of it. Also Young Justice can be good. It flip flops between strong character development and good action often though. Also it likes to drag out story arcs that ultimately don't leave much impact on the story.

Also inb4 MLP and Adventure Time

Damnit Day, you're always in before everyone anyways.

But yea, expecting mostly pony and maybe some adventure time. Alas, all of my favorite cartoons also come from the nineties.

I'm going to admit. The quality of cartoons is increasing in the last few years.

I will say I liked watching what I did of Chowder, Adventure Time, and Phineas and Ferb.
(Mostly in the morning before I get out of bed)

Will it ever reach the 90's levels? Probably not. But it gives me hope.

Really? I was expecting ponies by at least the 3rd post.
OT:
Ponies!
God, I love My Little Pony: Friend is Magic. Like, on a scary level. I agree with haters, I need serious help.
Regular Show!
It's random in a good way. I find it funny.
Gravity Falls!
Only a few episodes in and I love it! I'm a big fan of the art and animation style.
Legend of Korra!
As an animation student... *drools*.

Korra, Ponies, Young Justice.

From what I've seen of the regular show I have enjoyed.

I watch a few shows with my younger brother.

I really enjoy Adventure Time and Regular Show, and of course Legend of Korra and MLP.

Other than that, most cartoons these days are meh or just plain terrible.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Scattershot writing aside, it is visually stunning and has some really good episodes that are better than anything the prequels shat out.

...Is it bad to like Adventure Time? e_e

The shows hilarious. Thought I'd give it a watch a few weeks ago and got pretty hooked.
Reminds me of older cartoons. Trippy, nonsensical, sexual innuendoes ahoy.

Also Phineas and Ferb. I have a Perry the Platypus teddy. It makes it's noise when you squeeze his foot. xP

I'm in the same boat as you guys - Doug, Rockos Modern Life, Ahh! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold, Simpsons Seasons 1-8, XMen, original TMNT, etc.

Regular Show, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb are some that I love. Anyone who says that newer shows today are shit is just operating off of nostalgia logic

Pretty much these lots-
MLP:FiM
Young Justice
ThunderCats
Adventure Time
Regular Show
Legend of Korra
Green Lantern: TAS
Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorperated
Transformers Prime

I'm just sad that excluded Adventure Time and Regular Show, the rest are either finished for the time being (season finished) or just on hiatus at the moment (I do liked my 20 mins shows) since I got nothing to watch on a Saturday other than the anime Fairy Tail.

I guess I will give Gravity Fall a go especially when I am competely bored with Diablo 3 (my current played game at the moment).

I don't really watch much TV anymore, so haven't seen much, though I liked the 3 episodes I saw of that new Scooby Doo show whose name I can't remember, and I think Phineas and Ferb is pretty entertaining too, Avengers is OK I think and I haven't watched Young Justice yet, but considering my favourite cartoons ever are the DC onse, I probably should.

Cute ... ( i would love to have one)

well I will parrot a lot of people and say Phineas and Ferb (love the movie). I also like Avatar and Kim Possible(though I dunno if you call that newer).

My sentiments exactly...

Other than that, it's pretty much just anime... Moyashimon Returns is only one episode in and it's fucking awesome...

Adventure Time is single handedley bringing back some faith into my heart in cartoons for the future.

Regular Show is somewhat a part of that as well, though I don;'t seem to enjoy it as much.
