So, Okamiden was released in North American today, while Europe has to wait until Friday and Australia gets screwed over again, having to wait until the 30th.

Are you guys enjoying the game? Will you hold it against the rest of the western world if we hate you forever for getting another game early?

Backward compatibility for the win eh?

Mine's in the post, so hopefully I'll get a day earlier, but I'm in now rush to enjoy it. I shall nurse it, like the drunk man nurses his last beer.

I loved Okami...but...and I say this with shame...I wasn't even aware that it was coming out over here at all.

I'm...I'm so sorry. :(

I'm not angry, just... disappointed.

I think you need to think about what you've done.

It's not bad so far. Not much different from Okami gameplay-wise, other than the touchscreen of course, but that's to be expected. Unfortunately it doesn't look nearly as cool since none of the graphics really "flow" the way they did in Okami, but again, to be expected considering the hardware restrictions.

I'm sure I'll be really thankful to have it on my flight to Vegas this Friday.
You mean, like how Amaterasu's fur had constantly moving brush strokes?

Right. The only element on Okamiden that seems to move like that even slightly is the fire.
Hmm, that kind of sucks. That's what made Okami's graphics timeless, they flowed like a painting. But, like you said, I'm sure that's just a hardware issue.

I would be really chuffed if they ported the original to 3DS, now that would be awesome.

My store broke street date and I have to say it's pretty fun. It takes a LITTLE too much from the original though ( Seriously capcom? All the powers so far are the same) And takes out too much, such as water travel.

Hmm, I suppose it should be treated as a handheld expansion pack. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as the original anyway, but I'm glad most of the reviews are regarding it in a good light.
