Sometimes I wish I wasn't a stay at home guy and can get off this island and visit places.
Sadly now is not that time for me
Become a deck hand. AB-S jobs is a growth employment sector. Ain't nopthing stopping the global economy. Get paid to travel. Modern liners can do a Singapore to Singapore run with three stops in 78 nights. Get two night each stop, decent paycheque, you get a ship in dock you can sleep in...
Of course it's not the type of job that you could reliably settle down, start a family, assuming you're doing Panamax or larger. You're literally spending over 6 months on the blue, and 40 days at foreign docks on some major runs.
I've entertained the idea of spending 12 months travelling the world via cargo liners. Apparently it's not so expensive. Really long voyages costs more than a plane ticket covering the same distance, however. What with insurance and people having to keep you actually fed.
