any opinions on Mario Kart for Wii? what have people felt when playing it?

My dad (yes i know, strange!) has put Mario Kart for Wii on his xmas list...apart from doing my own research, i wanted to get some opinions from you guys on what you have thought about it, so if you could let me know your feelings and opinions of it, i would be grateful!

Amazing until you get blue shelled last lap and from 1st to 8th

Mario kart syndrome like a *****

But good fun; plus I can play as dry bones in a fish kart!

Its pretty good, better than a lot of other wii games and the steering actually works well as long as you are coordinated enough to walk in a straight line.

Always fun to play with others, becomes quite a spiteful competition.

Really good fun. Has a lot of content and the online mode will keep you playing for a long time yet. Better than its last inception imo (I was never a fan of double dash), and the introduction of bikes is a nice addition adding a new element to the game.

I would really recommend it, its one of the few Wii games i really would recommend.

I liked it, its more mindless Mario Karty fun. What did i feel when i played it? I felt like a massive tit.

Damn good. Not as good as Double Dash, but really fun.

That one night with it, a bong, some assorted drugs and a lot of vodka I'll never forget.

I think I won, though I can't be certain.

sounds epic - playing rainbow road on shrooms will mess with your head though!

Oh yeah, the game is cheap as hell if you're winning on the last lap... it's pretty fun, but it's also excruciatingly hard.

Fun. Until (like above) you get blue shelled on last lap, which annoys me to all ends when I'm trying to unlock all the damn characters...

It's also hilarious to play whilst drunk, especially with the steering wheel.

Pretty much as good at Double Dash. I think what puts it slightly over the top is the online mode, which matches your general skill pretty well. Of course, as stated above, be ready to be pissed with blue shells coming at you from all directions if you have the gall to try and win a race. It's still fun though.

Great game as long as the Wiimote isn't being used.

Pro: It's more Mario Kart. With all the awesome stuff from the previous games, along with a few minor graphics and gameplay improvements. The wheel thing is good for practicing drunk driving.

Con: It's more Mario Kart. Wheel is wonky to say the least, and is probably not that great if you actually want to win. This game is a bit of a "Played one, played them all" situation. But that's the central storyline to the Mario franchise anyway.

It's pretty fun. This coming from a guy that has very little good to say about the wii in general.

Really dull and uninteresting, not to mention stupidly easy. Think I got first in all the single player races on my first try.
The real catch is the multiplayer but I feel they fell a little short there too, there should be some many more options for multiplayer. Look at the amount of choice you have in Super Smash Brothers when making a game, it's the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I was thoroughly disappointed.

It's a hell of a lot of fun. Way better than the horrific gamecube version, and on par with the DS version.
