Anybody else disapponted with the companions in DA:2?

I know they haven't released them all yet, but the ones they have so far are really boring. I mean, we have Isabela, who I hated in DAO, and am upset to see her again, Aveline, and your brother and sister. Fenris looks like he'll be pretty interesting, but other than that I'm really miffed about this. And what's with the rumors that Varric is the female's LI? Because I would rather vomit blood than even consider??*vomits*

Personally, I would love to have another qunari, since I liked Sten and now they have horns

She wasn't a hooker. She was the captain of a pirate ship that was docked for a while so she went to the brothel to get her men get their fill before they sail out. It's just that she was kinky enough to offer a 3some to the person trying to save the lands from the blight. She's kick ass in every form of the word.

but seriously, I reserve my opinion of them until after I've played with them in game. There story and how it is incorporated into the game itself is more important to me than the little nuggets of information we might get beforehand.

Then it's obvious you really didn't pay attention to the character or her background, or you would realize calling her a "hooker" is plain ignorant of the material, as a few posters have already corrected you on well enough.

You're right, it is ignorant: hookers ask for money. Isabela doesn't.

And I payed plenty of attention to her background. I know she was married to a man she only kind of liked. I know that when he died, she inherited his ship. I know she and Zevran have some history, and I know that she knows you for all of ten minutes before offering to have a threesome, which in my book is pretty damn slutty. So, when I say "hooker" I mean "disgusting ho-bag who I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, much less go anywhere near".

EDIT: Sorry for the rant, I just really, really don't like Isabela. I had to talk to her in the game to get the duelist spec, and she just really rubs me the wrong way.

But then I remember I felt the same way with DA Origin's characters; With the exception of Morrigan and Shale, the Dragon Age companions were uninteresting at a glance, but after playing alongside them for a time you begin to appreciate them more and more.

Dragon age companions are different than Mass Effect or KotoR companions; They're less colourful, but have more depth.

I'm just confused a bit because apparently Qunari have horns now. In the first game all the Qunari you encounter don't have horns. Maybe its they're leaders that have horns?

They redesigned all the non-human races, although the qunari are obviously the most dramatically altered. The idea being that most qunari have horns, but some are born without them (like Sten). The horn-less ones usually end up being sent out to be like emissaries or whatever, since they look a bit more human than the ones with gigantic horns on their heads. Watch the destiny trailer: the guy Hawke is fighting is a qunari.

Erm, it's more than likely a Qunari companion will be available... so I don't see why you're complaining.
