This evening, I'm having Commander Shepard's N7 emblem tattooed on my right pec. I am curious as to whether any other escapees have gaming art on their bodies. If yes, what, and what was it about the game that made you get it? Discuss.

This is only somewhat-related, but is my own tattoo. I've never posted pictures before, so I hope that this works. If not, I'll edit it to just show the URL.

My best friend Brandon, another friend, and I had always joked (while being slightly serious) about getting a tri-force tattoo once we turned of-age. I was older than him, but was going to wait until he turned 18 so that we could get it together. Shortly after my eighteenth birthday...well, I'm sure it's implied by the tattoo. I decided to incorporate a triforce into my design because of our earlier plans for them.

It's a good tat, chada, and I'm sure your friend would love it :)

I've been toying with the idea of getting a Silent Hill related tattoo. The difficulty with gaming tattoos is getting something original, I think. It's rarely going to be totally different from someone elses tat based on the same thing; one Mark of Samael looks remarkably like another. So...if I could think of a way to add a bit of originality and spark into a gaming tattoo, I totally would.

I have Pacman on my foot, it got etched into me when I was drunk and my friends decided it would be funny to get out Indian ink and tattoo each other.

It was funny, and I don't regret the little wonky Pacman that's still engraved on me a few years later. Want to go over it properly and coloured in soon though.

I've got "The fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh" on the underside of my left arm, the Aperture logo on my ankle, and the Halo of the Sun on my right shoulder. I'm getting another Portal one (possibly a combustible lemon on my left shoulder) to even out the numbers.

This has made you one of my favourite people.

Would be cool to get the Omega symbol somewhere(á la God of War). Getting a pure gaming tattoo is way to nerdy for me. The Omega symbol has tons of meanings though. Read that as a tattoo it means you're married or something. Guess that wouldn't really fit.

YOU ARE WIN.

I used to wanna get a Triforce, and I still might, but given my raging fan-love for Samus Aran I might get the 'S' emblem somewhere, like the back of my shoulder.

That would be pretty good. Or a cluster of Metroids on my arm, that would be fucking sweet.

No, but I was going to really dork out and get each one of the mana symbols from Magic: The gathering tattooed to my left knuckles.

No I don't have one and I won't ever get one, but my friend has a Heartless tatoo on his right wrist.

I'm sorry, but if I'm ever getting a tattoo I'd like it to say something original about me.
Having the idea of someone else carved on my skin just because I liked their product sold to a couple million of people just seems extreme(ly stupid) to me.

well, that's not quite what it's about. at least, for me, there's more to it. for example, commander shepard is a true hero. i'm not getting the tattoo because i like mass effect. i mean, i do, i love it, but i'm getting it because i like to remind myself a)that my actions have consequences, b) there is more than one way to handle every situation (paragon/renegade) and c) that i'm an unstoppable badass. i like what shepard stands for, what he/she represents, and everything bioware has allowed me to do vicariously through the character. mass effect, and bioware games in general, is very good at telling you things about yourself that you didn't ask to know.

now i'm not saying that every video game tattoo has that much love behind it, but i'm pretty sure none of them came about "because i liked their product sold to a couple million of people."

thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming!

I've always wanted to get the chains that Jack has from Bioshock. I most likely will some day.
