Anybody else sometimes used to root for tv show villains as a kid.

I remember as a kid and sometimes even now in movies or cartoons I used to root for the villains, just because I wanted to see what to would happen to the show's universe if say, the power rangers were defeated.

I remember wanting Scar to win in The Lion King. Also, I totally wanted Wile E. Coyote to catch the roadrunner. Still do, actually.

Generally, If I thought the heroes were way too powerful or everything worked out just too perfect for them, I'd root for the villains.

There was a brilliant bit in Robot Chicken where Cobra hired a sniper and he killed all the G.I. Joes. I was laughing my ass off so hard.

I used to always want Team Rocket to at least be somewhat successful in stealing Pokemon, and in the Kim Possible movie I was happy when Shego took over the world

Well, the thing about the Roadrunner is that he never actively fucked over Wile E. Coyote. He just kind of... ran around and Wile fucked himself over. >.>

But then again, I don't remember all that much from tv shows and stuff I watched in my childhood.

I had a very strong sense of fairness as a child. Thus, I thought that the baddies in the Thundercats should have a chance to win every once in a while. When I aired this view to my mum, she said that I shouldn't want the baddies to win because they are bad. I still thought "Hmm yes I see your point, but maybe they could win just once!!"

However I could never accept anything bad happening to Robin and Nightwing. They were/are my favourites.

Also, when batman beyond got killed in that episode of JLA... that actually made me cry.

Not a cartoon, but I always felt sorry for Imhotep in The Mummy. He really wasn't an evil guy, just a starcrossed lover under a terribly evil curse. /He/ wasn't the one killing people, the curse was. And what was his plan if he actually pulled everything off? To live happily ever after with the girl he died for. Yeah, so evil.

Honestly, Tom isn't even a villain in those cartoons. Okay, in some. But Jerry is just the designated karma Houdini who can nearly always get a way with being a total jerk. Still, those times where he actually got what he had coming were good.

I did root for W.E. Coyote though. But again, not as much of a villain as he was just a very hungry carnivorus vulgaris.

The one that could be considered a villain I rooted for, though, was Dick Dastardly. Especially in the flying machine spin-off.
