Anyone else tried this new Black Prophecy free-to-play space combat MMO?

I just spent about 30 minutes checking it out and I'm rather blown away by the quality of this game. It seems very well made and has full game pad compatibility, though I may have to tinker around with the controller settings a bit.

What are your thoughts? Any fan of SW: Battlefront 2 should be tickled by it.

Its pretty good, the backstory was written by some proper sci fi writer and all that, but the first part of the game before you choose faction is alot better than afterwards.

After youve choosen your particular fashion it sort of steps down the story elements and goes back into standard mmo "kill x of y" quests.

Looks good and plays good, but how many times can you kill random numbers of random spacecraft that requires no variation in tactics in space?

Wow that looks awesome, but it is an MMO and all the content they have will be stretched out into thousands of tedious hours.

God I wish someone would make a new Freelancer

I played it but my play time was colored by a lot of time playing Freelancer, it's no Freelancer. I doesn't really have that interconnected galaxy feel to it Freelancer had. Freelancer had trading, transportation lanes that make travel actually feel like travel and the ability to kind of pick a direction within a system and most likey run into something. The instanced quests also rub me the wrong way but that just may be because I played Star Trek Online, and haven't quite recovered from that. I may play Black Prophecy again but it needs more ship designs that you can get at a lvl, it's like Warhammer Online in that way very millitary so everyone looks the same but it doesn't really give me something to work towards that odd or interesting looking item or ship design. Also open space exploration would also be nice.

I'm not sure how the PVP is so far but I hear it has a battlegrounds system and honestly that would be all I give a crap about. As much as I loved Battlefront 2 multiplayer space missions it's right down my alley. I'm looking forward to getting to a point where I can try it out.

I tried it but deleted after 2 hours, my PC really couldnt handle the game, it was really choppy. It may be fun, but I think it'll become a grindfest later on

It runs fine on the highest setting for me with the $600 system I built a few months ago. It may become a grind fest but at least it won't be all "Autotarget... 1 key... 2 key... 2 key... click and loot".

Besides the PVP is the only thing I'm concerned about in a game like this. Apparently there are a lot of PVP options.

The problem is that the only PC I got is a laptop. I'm getting my first gaming desktop really soon though, so I might give it another chance

It's exactly what I always wanted EVE to be, that's why I'm a little randy for this game.
