This year i decided, "fuck it, its my last year at this school, might as well do the school show for once". so i auditioned for Les Miserables, and ended up getting the part i wanted, which was Javert.

so i was wondering, any other escapists enjoy the thrill of being on the stage? be this in school, or proffessionally, or just something in your spare time?

Also, if you have been on TV for any reason by all means share that with us too

so how about it? any other dramatists in our community?

it doesnt matter if you did the show years ago, days ago... or in my case... the opening night is next week.... lol i wanna hear about it.

I mumble, so thats a drawback+ I'm self-concious(sp?) when I know everyone is looking at me.

My voice was on a local radio last school year, when a reporter dude was asking me and my friend how it is to go back to school after the summer. Well, we did what all kids do when we are in the public: LIE!

Also, my photograph and words were printed in a local newspaper when me and my two friends were collecting food for charity. Unfortunately, I borrowed the picture to one of those friends and he lost it... I would've put it in a nice frame.

I thought you meant been on TV, but you meant stage.

Fortunately, I've done both.

I was in the school's play of Romeo and Juliet when I was 12. I was Romeo and I fucking nailed it.

Yeah, I have. I was one of the better known drama kids.

We did a number of plays and extracurricular stuff. I was better than most of my peers, though and I constantly upstaged them. Whatever. That habit landed me lead parts most of the time.

I've played in Brand by Henrik Ibsen during the Ibsen 100 year-cultureevent. Every major scene in the country played Ibsen.
I've been on the news once about an outbreak of a flesheating bacteria during my militaryservice.

I was under a short period with a cover band at school. We played Smells Like Teen Spirit at the end of the year in front of the entire school, which is around 500 people.

Huh... I felt the same way, but I started last year, the spring of my junior year. I was Nicely Nicely Johnson in "Guys and Dolls" and we actually have auditions for our musical this year on Wednesday, I'm going for Moonface "Mooney" Martin in "Anything Goes" I personally love the feeling up on stage, I'm so glad I did it, hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

By the way, kudos to you for trying something a little bit different in your senior year!

Our little group did a number of performances within the school and a couple outside. I'll give you my part after each play name .

In school:

Alice in wonderland(That silly cat)
I can't remember the name. It was a greek black comedy(Choragus, the leader of the chorus)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory(Augustus Gloop)
Everyman(Death/Vanity)

Outside:

The girl who was asked to turn blue. Or something like that. It was a contemporary play based on the evils of conformity.(Number 47, a blind conformist. Loyal to number one)

Also, a number of small skits and another contemporary play whose name escapes me.(Larry, an eccentric fellow. Is suffering from Narcolepsy.)

All in all, I love to be on stage. There is something exciting about being someone else.

I've been a pro-level tap dancer for the past ten years (I'm 18) so I am very used to being on stage. The silly thing is, when I'm off stage I'm incredibly awkward and shy, but as soon as I hit the boards, I'm THERE. I love performing on stage. :D

I've never had a major role in any plays, since I'm not the best singer or actor (all I have is presence). I was in the ensemble of Jesus Christ Superstar and Thoroughly Modern Millie, and I had a fun role in the first scene of Romeo and Juliet.

Glad I'm not the only person.

OT: I think I was on tv at a football game in highschool.

Me and a few friends had to do an outro to a documentary a few years back with us walking out of the school gates but that's about it nothing amazing, others had to answer some questions as well but it was a load of balls.

I've been in a school production, but nothing major. I don't have the talent to do anything other than stand up comedy.
