Is Minecraft even a thing, outside of junior high twitch streamers?
A cheap, easy to run game with an extensive modding community, nearly infinite possibilities, and that sparked many massive online communities that helped forge entire relationships?
Yeah. Pretty sure it's still a thing. The child takeover factor is pretty easily ignored as long as you don't go to Minecon or you can play in communities that strictly limit themselves to 18+ players.
I can understand if you haven't played or looked into anything Minecraft related on purpose, but the game is still quite ubiquitous in the gaming industry. A lot of games, regardless of quality, live or die by their online communities, and Minecraft still has a decent one, especially with it being ported to nearly every platform out there.
