Anyone still play this online...?

Since we're now nearing that horrible summer period where the only newsworthy games are the horrible movie tie ins (although inFamous does look pretty sweet), youd think it would be sensible to go back and pick up those games you had no money left for last Christmas.

In my case I fancy a budget copy of Ridge Racer 7, but was wondering if anyone still played it online, or if the servers are even open anymore...

Which leads me to wonder...does anyone play couple-year-old multiplayer games anymore? Obviously, games like COD4, Halo 3 and Warhawk are still goin strong, but what about games like Rainbow Six Vegas, the original Resistance, Gears of War 1 and Tekken 5: DRO?

so if anyone fancies buying a budget online multiplayer game but doesnt know if anyone else plays it anymore, feel free to sound off.

I would love for someone to play Wacraft 2 with on Battle.Net, but those days are long gone.

Heroes of Might and Magic III, Lords of the Realm II, Stronghold: Crusader...the list just goes on and on.

I think Gears of War 1 definitely has some players, and Tekken 5: DRO is a game I know a few people play.
Don't know about Resistance and Vegas, though.

I play AoM with my buddies from time to time on LAN. I hate the Greeks >.<

now you mention it, its been ages since i played Tekken. My internet doesnt like it for some reason. mayb i should try again, get some practice for 6

That game kind of died one day but its stil immense just for the whole mythology thing makes a more fun game me thinks.

just try picking them up with some friends and play them to death with them and the occasional bypasser ^^

i had the original Vegas but the only multiplayer outlet i had was terrorist hunt with my friend up the road. and i doubt all my friends would buy two year old games to play online with me due to the lack of Trophies. yeh, theyre Trophy-whores

I dont play many "new" games. SF4 is probably it. Im still playing Endwar, Army of Two and COD4. Im trying to decide if Ill get the new Flashpoint and UFCgames.

I tried to play Champions: Return to Arms online today. PS2 version. I got into the server and I was the only player in there. Then I remembered how ancient and rare this game is.

Resistance FoM is still going pretty strong. I play it from time to time since R2s gameplay pisses me off. I think the servers for ridge racer are still up but Im not sure.
