Hi dudes, I'm wondering why no one is talking about this game, from the trailers and what not I am seeing that it will be a huge hit, think of it like Red Dead Redemption but in an urban setting.

I'm definitly getting this game as soon as possible.

Here's the trailer, please discuss what you think, cheers!

(Available for PC)

ehh the gameplay gets kind of dull after a while, and while I was going to get it anyway now that they'v announced their "revolutionary subscription model" to be the standard pay so much a month to play in disguise, I've gone right off it.

To play in disguise? what does that mean if you don't mind me asking.

As for the gameplay, I hear that it has very heavy customization, and I wouldn't doubt that new content will come out all the time.

One wonders why you didn't just say GTA4.

It looks good, but then, they all do. Plus with shooters you need a low ping, and I live in Australia, which basically rules that out.

I played beta for it, and while it was kinda fun it really didn't grab my the way i want a game too.

Plus a game has to be really good to convince me to pay a subscription, I don't particularly want to pay for something monthly that I can pick up and play for free with GTAIV. (I'm sure there is more multi player stuff to APB but I tend to only play this type of game to fuck around and blow shit up)

Also, at the time the vehicles drove like failboats, I really hope they've changed that.

You're right actually, I just didn't think of it at the time xD.

Well sucks that your ping isn't usually that good, but come to think of it, hasn't anyone actually been gagging for a GTA multiplayer that allows you to choose a side + the customization that we all love?

There was actually a topic about this the other day. But you get credit for actually mentioning the title of the game beyond just a stupid acronym that can mean anything and for actually including a trailer or something in the OP. Just include a brief description of the game for those out of the loop and it'll be A material.
To be honest I did make a search for both, and nothing came on my radar, if I missed something I do apologize :)

I saw some trailers for it, and it's just not my cup of tea. The standard GTA-type setting has lost all appeal for me, and let's face it, this is exactly what GTA would look like if it went MMO.

So it`s a MMOGTA thing ? Nice but I wouldn`t buy without checking it out first, too many things can go terribly wrong with MMOs.

I like the subscription model, really perfect for a game like this. I can always play Counter Strike: Source if I must get my Online FPS fix, but if I feel like being more hectic I'll just purchase a few hours for All Points Bulletin and get that fix.

The game is fun, so long as you're with a good group. Yet I never got angry during this game, even when I got screwed over when opposition takes over and camps the site. Which they have to and for the life of me I can't figure out why, outside of it requiring and forcing group play. And while I brought up negative points regarding the game, I have never gotten angry and only remain rational in regards to the problems I've ran into.

The cars handle fine for me. I actually can drive fairly well, I can probably thank Far Cry 2 for that.

Again, I just hope there are some American Escapists picking this title up to group with as random probably won't be my cup of tea. They also won't let Americans play on the European servers and they built a velvet rope to prevent us from crossing... it's impossible I tells ya! Impossible!

All in all, it's worth what I paid for it. I used a 25% Off Promo Code, so I can't complain. Can't wait to hop back in... just wish I knew what the Enforcer equivalent to carjacking is... since all Criminals have to do to make a lot of cash is steal a car and drop it off.

That would be finding a previously jacked car and returning it to the Cop drop off point.

I was really hyped about this game as well at first but after playing the beta and realizing my PC can't quite play this game I had to pass.

I don't mind the subscription model at all actually, and fits my needs as a late working man, but I really just don't like the purchasing price.
As for the America/Europe thing, that sucks hard, because most of my friends are in America, where I am in Europe :(

Got bored waiting for the beta to download, gave me something like a 15 hour completion time. Meh.
I think the web-client downloads around 7.5 gigs, what a pain in the nuggets.

They claimed they where going to have some brilliant new subscription model for it, but it turns out its the same model all the MMO's have taken where you pay so much a month to play, they just dressed it up by adding the pay so much for a few hours bit to the end of it.

So I'm not willing to pay that much for what from the beta test wasn't that brilliant a game, its fun for a few hours with some friends sure but after a while its always the same thing. Maybe the finished game will be better but it didn't look it when I played.

I figured as much when I took a random car and turned it in. Yet, that's a bit... lopsided, don't you think? Can't Enforcers just confiscate and use it for the Enforcers' cause? I mean, come on, Criminals get any and all cars and the Enforcers are stuck with only the ones the Criminals jack.

Who said the Enforcers had to be good guys. They can easily just be "good" guys.

As for your computer not handling it they implemented constraints for 32-Bit users and those with equal to or less than 2 Gigs of RAM. I can run it perfectly fine without the constraints, but I dunno. Maybe it was just a Keys to the City thing, remains to be seen.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions though, regarding the Enforcer thing.

Only thing putting me off at present is paying £30 to get the game and then a monthly fee...to find out if I'll enjoy it.

A free 14 demo, like WOW offers, even with the crazy limitations that WOW has in place, would be better than nothing, and it means people can see how it runs, and if it'll be their kind of thing.

Who knows, maybe more people will buy it without knowing, than actively wont buy it without knowing, but I still think demos are the way to sell a game IF you have any confidence in your product.

If however you're trying to just bundle as much shoddy product out as possible before the reviews get out in public, then stop people reviewing it and don't release a demo version.

(My own fault for not getting into the beta too, I guess, but I still think a demo would be a good idea, and I really want this to be good, but... the review embargo and the lack of demo concern me.)

I was in the beta. I played it for maybe about 15 hours or so before I couldn't make myself play it anymore. It just wasn't very fun for me - the controls were clunky in general but ESPECIALLY the driving parts. There just wasn't enough stuff to do for me either.
