So I haven't seen much noise about the new season, so I figured I'd make some.
Archer Dreamland, huh? Noir 1940s/50 mystery thriller. I like it. The first episode was a little lacking on jokes, but I'm confident enough in the writers that it'll be a good season. The show always kept its tire period vague, so its a neat change to have a solid era it takes place in.
As far as the changes go, I like this treatment of Archer, as a PTSD riddled GI-turned-PI. I thought the little flashbacks Archer suffers of the Normandy invasion were handled well.
And he still seems to be close to Pam, and I've always loved their interactions.
Malory as mobster queen Mother is interesting. She seems like she's just going to be an exposition generator.
Ray and Krieger are fine.
Figgis as a cop? Okay? I can't tell if he's corrupt or not, so...
Lana as a lounge singer can work. I hope she gets more one-on-one time with Archer. Their interactions are the best!
And Carol. Well she's Cheryl, what did you expect?
