So I just buying Cthulhu Saves the World, but all the other best-selling Indie Games on Xbox Live are invariably Minecraft clones. Meh. Are there any other funny or addictive XBL Indies Games you could recommend?

Zombie Estate.
It's a rather basic isometric shooter that involves surviving waves and waves of zombies (how original /sarcasm), but it's actually quite fun. Plus, it's got loads of fun weapons and also has some amazingly fun local co-op if you've got some other buddies to play with.

It's only about 80msp from what I remember, so I'd definitely say check it out.

Well there's Super Meat Boy and Castle Crashers. Although I believe the former is also on the PSN now.

Limbo is pretty good, has a great aesthetic and is really atmospheric.

He's not talking about Xbox live arcade games, he's talking about the indie games the much cheaper and crappier games on XBL

I've never bought any of the indies myself but to be honest the only one that looked interesting was Cthulhu saves the world.

a lot of the games that are being sold in the 'indie' section are weird dating sims so it kinda makes me feel uneasy about that whole area.

The only indie game I have ever bought on XBL is The $1 Zombie Game. The name is self explanatory and is actually a decent way to blow a little time.

Kodu Game Lab is pretty good, although I wouldn't really call it a game.

Beat Hazard, though.. Now that's a good game. It's basically Geometry Wars, but tied to your music, with the intensity and beat of the song determining the pace and difficulty of the level. If it's as good on 360 as it is on PC (on which I've put almost twelve hours into the game), then it's totally worth the entry price.

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 is pretty swell. So is Get to the Choppa!

edit: Breath of Death VII is made by Zeboyd, the same people who did Cthulhu Saves the World. It's not quite as good, but still pretty awesome!

Yes, there are a couple that I have enjoyed on XBLI. TEC 3001, They Breathe, Volchaos, Mute Crimson and The Deep Cave. I suppose these aren't particularly funny though.

Haven't gotten around to actually buying that one, but planning on it sometime in the future. It reminds me of Pepsi Man for the original PlayStation except all robotic and stuff...and better. I enjoyed the trial and would heartily recommend it to someone who has extra Microsoft points lying around.

On a side note, I really hate the stupid point system because after signing up for the rewards program it seems quite impossible for me to use up all the points and end up with zero points. I have a balance of 30 points, madness.
